OKCterror Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Im running maxima r oil in a 32:1 mix. Having pretty good results with it but was wondering if there is a better oil out there. Seen the penzoil 2 stroke and other maxima's but nothing that really caught my eye. info anyone-Dan Quote
OKCterror Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 never heard of it. I wonder if royal purple makes something??? Quote
AKheathen Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 never heard of it. I wonder if royal purple makes something??? i belive they do, but on the sled market. i use torco 32:1, but if your getting good results, stick with what you got. oils are formulated diferently to work alone, when you swithch, and even empty the old stuff out they mix in the engine and you don't know what you get. the wrong comb. could be bad and you wouldn't know it right away Quote
OKCterror Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 ^what would be some issues? Quote
Snopczynski Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 I like castor 927 alot, it burns well, and has taken my motor through 2 years of abuse. You get what you pay for, so watch out for oils sold at low costs and that are available at auto parts stores or minimarts (pennzoil). Quote
OKCterror Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 well like i said ive been using the maxima r, i think ill just stay with that. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Nothing wrong with the oil you're running, nothing wrong with changing oils. The ONLY time that is an issue is if you mix two different type of two stroke oils in the same tank of fuel, they could be incompatible and separate...even then, that's a slim chance if you're running gas.... It's a good idea to drain the tank if you're going to switch oils. Methanol (alky) is MUCH more picky about what kind of oils will mix with it... I used Maxima products in my bikes and quads for years...never an issue. Quote
