Relativelyfast Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I have a 2000 Banshee that I purchased used 3 years ago. It has some modifications allready but I'm not sure about what is inside of the engine as I was not able to speak with the previous owner. What I have: Cool head FMF pipes +4 swingarm no key switch aftermarket brakes bigger jets k&n filters lots of billet polished parts on engine no idea what is inside of it seems a touch faster than a piped and jetted 450. a touch faster than stock raptor 700 What I think I want from reading around: Intended for sand use I kind of want to do an ebay special engine build 4mm crank (does it have to be a long rod?) ebay used dune ported cyls (will get them bored) want to run race gas what domes? new carbs what ones are best to look for on ebay? Any help on anything I need would be great, thanks. Quote
1996dragshee Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 no it doesnt have to be a long rod crank.just make sure whatever cylinders you buy are ported correctly.ebay tends to have a lot of home "drag" port cylinders...junk. your best bet would be to look it up here..for the price of a stock length rod 4mil on ebay, vitos im assuming $420 then you would want to upgrade the pto side bearing..$75.hell just run a rewelded hot rods 4mil with a max load bearing already installed..look it up in the for sale forumn...Fouledout421 is selling it cheap. as far as cylinders. look them up or post in the wanted section.im sure you will find a deal onsome good ported cylinders.its a good idea to make sure theyre ported for a 4mil to get the max out of the set up.while the motor is apart cut the gasket to match the transfer ports on the cylinders and line em up on the top case to port the cases.might as well do it while the motor is apart if your sticking with the stock cylinder set up.your coolhead will do just fine.run some 18cc (which i have for sale  ) or 19cc domes to bump the compression up and run some race fuel. 35 pwks should do you just dandy for duning im sure others will post up but this should get ya going in the right direction Quote
