depends on the bolt ons,  in your case you may get around 2k if you part it out, but it will take a lot of time and a lot in shipping.

I'm thinking about it. I paid 2100 for it and ended up riding like three times before it locked up. :( I guess it would be a hassle for shipping if it doesn't sell locally. How much do you think a rebuild would cost?

To some of the losers on Facebook your sitting on 3k.
To me, that's less then 1k. But maybe you can get more.

Thanks for the input. I have offers in the 1700 range right now. Do you think it would be worth more parting it out or selling whole?

  3. I was wondering how much you think it is worth as is. I haven't split the case to check inside. not running and I am fairly new to working on engines in general so I wouldn't be able to confidently diagnose the problem. FMF Gnarly pipes and FMF silencers. I think the engine was stock. Mikuni carbs and tors removal kit. Hidden key relocation. 4 inch extended chrome swingarm and chrome arms. Renthal handlebars. DG bumper. That's about all I can think of.

  4. Hey, I just replaced my head gasket like last week for the same reason, but a head stud broke. I had to wait for new ones to come in and now I fixed it. It makes a sound like pressure leaking from the exhaust or something when I try to start it up. Like a “tsch” should I replace the gasket again or is it probably something else. Rookie here by the way, so I just figured an air leak, but what do you guys think? Thanks for the help!

  5. Yeah, took of the head and a piston was locked in place. Let it sit with oil for a few days then put everything back and it’s good now. After that, it’s started just fine and I let it run for a little after changing the coolant and oil. Now when I try to kick it over it makes a noise like air pressure when it seems like it’s going to start and it doesn’t start. Forgive my ignorance, I’m a rookie at this stuff but trying to learn about engines and all. It would probably have to do with the gasket, right? Because I didn’t change it after placing the head back on. Have to wait for the new one to come in.

  6. So yesterday I was riding, not too hard or anything and the banshee died. No weird noises or anything, it just bogged down when I got into some sand. I kicked it a few times to start it back up and then it locked. I got it back home and drained the oil then took off the right side case to check if anything was stuck in there. Everything looked fine from what I could tell so I just sprayed some WD-40 on the gears and they started being able to turn. I put the case back on to test and then it locked up again after it was able to turn one time. What could this be?
