  1. Brand new rebuild and now only one pipe actually “pushes” smoke and the other has barely any pressure coming out of it that I can feel left pipe seems to smoke and has plenty pressure, right pipe has barely any pressure or smoke. Took comp test and both have 140 psi in each cylinder. Just finished rebuilding it and making it a 4 mil and ported and what not and now it seems to not run right because of this. need help asap, thanks. 9436a34a16bc19b954bd2f956083d280.jpg

  2. Small amount of yamabond should fix you up, have had luck with added second gasket on both side of cages. Less to clean off later

Worked good and holds 7 psi for 7 minutes, thank you.

  3. At first when i pressure tested the engine it leaked at the bottom on the same piece, and i noticed that i was missing a gasket between there, so i put one in on each reed and then tested it, got rid of the leak on the bottom but now there is one on the top of each. How do I feel this and should I worry about it? Thanks. 2200fd3bb2ef3bc1e73b44881d0508e2.jpg

  4. I recently have got pretty much my whole shee powder coated. Long story short now my plastics do not match with everything else I have done. Instead of purchasing new plastics I would like to paint mine. So my question here is what exactly do you need to do to make paint STICK to plastic and actually have it last? What paint do you use? What kind of prep work do you do? I have yellow and black plastics since it’s a 2003 and I would like to paint them a nice Matte/Flat black. Any help is appreciated since I really want it to look nice. Thank you. 5ee59fc269a6884dfb3e2593e5f1eb9c.jpg

  5. Basically I painted my banshee a couple months ago and it turned out good but of course did not hold up. Paint was already wearing off and fading after 2 weeks. Being the dumbass I am and knowing nothing about paint I didn’t prime the yellow painted parts before I started, I just scrubbed the parts in a part cleaner and painted them. When I recently did my a arms I smartened up and primed them with a few coats, sanded them with different grits, and painted them, the a arms sure hold up wayyyy better. I actually first painted the a arms yellow but then realized how retarded that looked, so I stripped down the paint and repainted. But now I am going to take off all the old paint and repaint everything in the rear. Basically I am looking for any tips on how to make the yellow paint stick and hold up better for me. (I am happy with the a arms) 807e3cd6f483b1a37cbfb1ffb9be0d5d.jpgf0cca7fb5e1076a664cc20230ef25783.jpg28e215eaca37ab68c362fb39b1520a46.jpgaeec1a4f3496f9634d9dfd2b77f152bd.jpga74d674864135fdca9c1ca04a146ada8.jpgI was going to powder coat but the only shop around me wants to charge 500$, I am not looking to spend that on this banshee lol. Any tips are appreciated, thanks!

  6. Basically one of my pipes where the silencer meets, the rubber piece that seals it ripped in half. I noticed a big loss of power in the top end. So I tried to rig it for the rest of the ride and it kinda worked for a little and I felt the power come back. Anyway, now I have new ones I just bought that look and feel way nicer and have better clamps. My question was, does a exhaust leak really cause this much loss in power??? Is this due to the acoustic waves in the pipe escaping and not bouncing back to give back pressure and push any escaped fuel back in??

  7. Like I said earlier I can not afford that stuff currently but I am planning on getting my cylinders ported and maybe better pipes. When I had my 2013 700 I raced against it and was pretty much dead even when my banshee only had pipes, and it was a decent rider on the 700. I’ve raced more 700s now after the few things I have done I can beat them without to much of a struggle. I ride for fun and just wanted to be able to keep up with the new quads which I currently can, I am not trying to sink a ton of money into things I don’t really need with a quad I’m happy with. I just wanted your guys opinions and I got them, I have raced against multiple quads now and I have answered my own question. No need to keep posting here. I’ll most likely just get it ported and leave it how it is. Thanks for the replies.

  8. sure, you can run it after you un sieze it with oil, but it’s no longer going to be reliable. The cylinder could be messed up, the piston could be scored up, the rings could be bent and junk, there is a bunch of things that could be wrong after it locks up. Just rebuild the top end with good parts and new gaskets if you want it to be right and run right. But if you’re going to keep it like this then do a compression test in both cylinders for us and report back, then we will have a better idea what the problem is.

  9. So yesterday I was riding, not too hard or anything and the banshee died. No weird noises or anything, it just bogged down when I got into some sand. I kicked it a few times to start it back up and then it locked. I got it back home and drained the oil then took off the right side case to check if anything was stuck in there. Everything looked fine from what I could tell so I just sprayed some WD-40 on the gears and they started being able to turn. I put the case back on to test and then it locked up again after it was able to turn one time. What could this be?

If everything else seems to check out pull off your cylinders and check it out.
  10. eBay top end?   Spend $ on suspension

It was from BPRacing which I seen is a sponsor here. It came with wiseco pro lites which I thought were good pistons, and it also came with the cylinders which claim to be as good as OEM, they looked really nice and didn’t seem bad. But idk.  Right now I already put shocks on, cheap shocks nothing like fox or anything. I am not the type of guy to spend big bucks on how the quad rides, it just does not really bother me. I 100% prefer power.

And how do you think the current build will do against those quads?

    Thanks.

  11. Why dont you have the cyls ported?

I’m still in high school and I don’t have much money to put in the quad, but this summer I have got a good job and I should for sure have enough to get them ported. It’s at the top of my list, but for now I’ll have to settle for stock cylinders, plus the cylinders I got with the top end kit are brand new and are “suppose” to be as good as oem, who knows though. Also, who would have the best quality and price to send my cylinders to?

  12. You probably get this question a lot, but I have to ask. I ride with a lot of 400, 450, and raptor 700’s. I have not really raced any of them since I got my banshee running how I want. I raced a TRX 450 when my banshee was stock and beat it pretty good. But anyway do you guys think my build will beat those stock quads?? Also what’s a rough estimate of what hp I have over a stock shee? My build is:

    Wiseco Pro Lites

    FMF Gold Series Fattys

    FMF powercore 2

    K&N single air filter

    +4 timing

    TORS removed

    Vitos clutch plates

    290 mains

    Stock gearing

    32:1 AMSOIL Dominator 91 octane

    Running rich on purpose

     800ft

Pretty much my goal was to get as much power as I could out of a stock cyl. and crank banshee. I am not there yet but tell me what else I could do. Thanks.

  13. carb sync tool works well to sync carbs at idle together, its the most accurate way.  I only use the tool to sync them at idle part throttle you can basically eye it.
if its staying idled up like that for 1-3 seconds, and there are no air leaks, reeds are good and cable is fine, run your air fuel screw all the way in, then put it at a half turn out, see if that helps, stock pilot? 25

Pilots are 30s. I have my carbs synced also. Like I said I am not having the problem now, I am not sure why this was happening or what caused it. I just adjusted my idle screws and it went away, maybe coincidence. Also I ran my air screw in earlier and it sounded way to rich, I already have it jetted rich anyway. My air screws are 2 1/2 turns out. Thanks for the reply and help.
