How long since the last rebuild?

Up your main jet.

I’d up the main. Look at what’s in there and you only need to go up or down a little. Jets are cheap enough. The. Plug chop on every jet change till it’s right.

Well does it idle and rev up?
Does it rev but choppy?
Can you not go past a certain point? We need more info

I was running 32s on the pilot. And 150 main.

What else is done to it? Just pipes?

What’s your elevation and temps
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Your lean. That’s why your blowing pistons. Try 1.5 out. Did you plug chop? Are you sure your carbs are clean?

I have a pair of upp intake boots and a pair of 40mm flatslide carbs. Will separate.

Jetting my dude. Drop the main jet and plug check to confirm. I.E. 160 main should now be a 155 or 150 or whatever it takes.

Lol. Pillow biter.

I want to know if you know about jetting as well. Because the elevation and temps and humidity all play a part in bogging

32:1 mix. But running higher octane might be helpful but not needed for your set up

Very possible about the lean condition. Do yourself the favor and delete the tors and e-brake switch. It will save you the hassle of electrical problems later. As far as jetting. You need to know what's in there to jet accordingly. We can all guess numbers but we need to know what carbs are on there. Keihin mikuni and so on. I believe the factory carbs are 28mm. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What carbs are on it? Are you sure it's stock thru and thru? Just because it looks un open doesn't mean it wasn't worked on.

I may have one. What does your plug look like? I have an adjustable timing plate from rm stator too
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
On my end yes. I have keihin 38mm carbs and upp intake boots. No cross over tube. Direct boots.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
Not to Jack your post but I have 38mm carbs. A new rm stator adjustable timing plate. And sand paddles on rims.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
Yeah. And that was 100 degree weather. Lol.

Isn't 280 a big main jet for his elevation. Look at my motor and I'm running a 265 and it's perfect

Bogs from half to wot.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
You've come to the place for help. I do know how to read plugs.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
Leave your pilot in there.
