  1. Welp I blew my banshee up a few days ago so I'm glad I didn't order that wheel/tire set.. But I have been thinking and you guys are right.. I'll just get tires for the wheels I have when the engine is finished.. But before I even think about that I have to tear into this bike.. Hopefully I will just rebuild it and be done but I always end up doing a complete overhaul when i see parts scattered..

  2. Thanks for the review sheerider

I bought a banshee from a guy who claims to have just rebuilt the top end but it looks like he took a lot of shortcuts. There are mismatch bolts on the head and cylinders. I can't tell what brand the pistons are but they look cheap and I'm guessing he used cheap or old needle bearings too cause the left side needle bearing took a shit and took out the rest of the motor. The cylinders actually look like they were new but now they need to be resleeved..   I was planning on tearing it down in a few weeks anyway but I guess I get a head start now lol..

Anyways I'll get started on the bottom end in a few weeks(hopefully sooner) and after that I'll be looking to get these cylinders resleeved and ported.. Look at this shit

  3. What type of riding are you doing where traction isn't a big deal? Don't you just want traction so that you can feel that big powerband hit? You definitely didn't buy a banshee for the handling. What am I missing here? I'm going to assume you just want the look and that's it

I already knew what was available, which is why I recommended you switch wheel size.

But then, you realized that 18" tire selection was slim.

    So you bought 20".

Now, you have an over-priced, under-performing tire.

    Anyway...

  4. Hi guys, I just got my first banshee and the tires are trashed. The dude I bought it from decided to cut the knobbies off of the rear tires and the front tires have no grip either and don't hold air for long. Other than that he took really good care of the bike and I think I got a pretty good deal.

I am going to buy new wheels and tires soon and I think I want 10inch rear wheels. I love the look of the slightly bigger rim on an 18 or 20 inch tire

  5. Spend extra money on a smaller set of rear wheels. That's all we saying.

Yes I understand and I respect you taking the time to share your thoughts but I have 9inch rears already and my buddy just gave me another set of stock size wheels but I want the 10inch rear.. I'll just switch back if its a big deal but like I have said traction isn't a big deal..

  6. But you didn't .....

It's obvious that clutchluck was looking for information on how to achieve the look of the quad he posted in his initial pic.....not suggestions on tire performance. As I would like to achieve the same look, I have been doing research and sharing my findings to hopefully help clutchluck with his question and anyone else trying to achieve this look.

You hit the nail on the head.. I was asking for more pics of this style.. And as I said earlier if I want a good hooking tire then I can just go back to my old 9inch rear.. But for the riding I do traction isn't a huge deal..

  7. Yeah I'll hold off on that.. I have an MSR clutch perch right now and it has the bearings at the pivot point.. It actually helps with the pull alot.. My clutch is a lot easier to pull than my friend's.. Idk if i can attribute that to the MSR or maybe a better lubed cable but I'll just live with it for now.. And besides that tough pull will probably just beef up my left forearm lol  :rotflmao:
