  1. Trickedcarbine I'm just ordering a new idler gear from the Yamaha factory for 55. Along with the washers and a new clip. Along with a new crank key because the old one was split in half.

98_sheester I will take lots of pictures! I got my shee with out ever hearing her run. When that day comes in a week or two, due to money and shipping, it'll be a glorious day! I'll share a video of first time for in it up on here if I can. And thanks but I got a good mechanic with fast return time.

I actually talked to my mechanic today. Cleaned I was at 64.85mm for the jug, so I'm ordering 65mm pistons from wiesco this week. Once I get them he will finish my jugs.

I also brought in my cases and crank when I talked to him today. He examined the crank and said everything is fine with the crank that he would use it.

He examined the case that I was worried about, due to the damage on it. He said its fine, the reason that they must have had to rebuild it last time was from a rod bearing going out.

Do you think I should just use my crank I have or use the one I just ordered?

I ordered a used crank from a legit dealer. Anything I need to do to either of these cranks in order to use them? Or should I return it and get a trued and welded rebuild crank for like $60 more?

Good i like pics but if you happen to wanna get rid of one of those cranks let me know too
  2. They are called wet clutches aren't they? So your assume keeping them wet would be better than keeping them dry? This is my first banshee. Trying to do all the work myself. Had a shifting issue. Fixed that. Bike ran like shit. Would mostly run on one cylinder. Got that fixed up. Got some good oil for clutch side. Runs better than its even ran...had it out for 5 min...then realized my gear shifter is stripped! Frig! Non stop. But it will be ready soon. Buying a new shifter this week from Yamaha.

I have a stock gear shift ill sell 12 shipped but i run a gear slammer and i like it lots but rubs the stator cover if its pushed all the way in on Splines
  3. Question on the plugs.... I heard that the bigger numbers are colder plugs is this correct....i went and got some news the other day, all they had was br9es and said they wouldnt recommend it since its a cooler plug? Just figured id ask

  4. Yeah I read the SHIT out of this forum, not much for posting usually! Tons of great info, but you have to search through a lot of bs sometimes to get the right answer. Thanks for looking

Id take mr loco advice since he has a badass 18dm, and its not his first go around but, +6 i think would be good just depends on what your doing with it i guess
  5. So do you run a boost bottle?

I had a PD. I'll see if I can find it. It's scored up from getting sloppy and the shaft wearing. Put oem. No issue.

Mull finally made a billet with the correct shaft that doesn't wear

I run a cross over tube thanks tho man..i bet it should be plastic too instead of aluminum tho huh

And the next argument is...."i actually made of pvc" yes it works but the tolerance of plastic to metal is self explained

  6. Id say a billet would last as long

Think plastics wear tolerance to metal if i were to the plastic impeller and gear and a billet one and run it on the ground the same amount i guarantee the plastic will have more material gone.

Im not sayin thats what ppl do but the simple fact plastic shards are better than metal if it were to fail... But at the same time you have never had one fail so there should be no worries either way....correct

  7. Nah. It's science.

Show me ANY aftermarket impeller that can last as long as an OEM.

And overheating is usually due to improper head design or jetting. Or air leak

    I wasnt good at science

But they didnt start making them for shits and giggles is all..

  8. New stock yamaha > billet. they are plastic for a reason.

IF you got the engine hot enough to score the cylinders, low compression would make it hard to start.

Yeah cuz they started making them in the 80's thats why.... Thats like saying keep your stock plastic covers on a drag bike IMO but personal peace of mine if you ask me
