The prices on this stuff will continue to go up because people will keep buying. The people will keep buying because they can get financed. Plain and simple.
All these big companies don't make the bulk of their money on sales anymore. They make it on interest by financing every single part of your life.
I'd give 80k for a new Platinum 450. But I'd put a ton down, take out a note for a maximum of 36 months, and it's something I could utilize every day.
Side note: I really want to buy a 450 in 2018 but those new F650's are sexayyyy as fuck and about 20k less.

I've got a buddy who told me basically the same thing. His father in law bought a new escalade in Naples and it was 99 or 100 or something stupid like that.I used to always buy new shit. But I don't see paying $80k for a truck to pull my trailer 3 times a year. I don't know why they keep going up. Mine was $60k out the door in 2011. Sticker was $65k.
Side note: my dad said a local dealer sold an Escalade XL Platinum the other day for $101k.

So neglected. Wish someone would show this thing some attention.Because ford owners are more likely to be a fucktard and not take care of their shit. Along with overtuning the engine for the trans.
The power chokes and super doody trucks are like ricers of the truck world and more common to get fucked with compared to GM trucks.
Thats why you saw more. Plus there is more fords out there anyways...
You are going to need a lot more numbers to make that comparison factual other than just i saw more grenaded in the warehouse.
Damn v8 diesels and their flaspy loose beef curtains queefing sound they make.

What!?The Ford interior sucks. Gmc or dodge

I'd go Ford or Dodge. Tyler's is the work truck version and it's nice as can be. I've driven several of my customers Fords and they're nice too. Ford and Dodge are a toss up imo.Ok, drove a new Chev for about 700 miles this last weekend and that pushed me over the top.. Fuck this pile of mine, its time for a new rig! So here is the question.................... 2015 or 2016, what to buy?
Needs to be-
long bed
1 ton (or more)
diesel
about as loaded as they come
RELIABLE (I understand they are all junk)
Here is where Im at right now
Chev- Rides great, runs well, TERRIBLE mileage, Backup camera sucks a fat kids dick, safety chain connections are a facking joke, the goofy receiver insert is dumb as fuck.
Ford- Rides decent, runs well, mileage sucks, a little less spaceship like that the chev, seems to tow a bit better (less wander), I like the tail gate deal, a little cheaper, 6.7 seems to be proven.
Dodge- I haven't spent as much time in the newer dodges. Dodge is the lowest on the list or choices, but Im willing to listen to what you have to say from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, not "my buddy" bullshit.
GM stuff just feels a little too light duty for me. That's just my opinion though.

So I guess it's your turn to give a more scientific explanation than "V8's are shitty"Then you should know better. but you obviously dont because you are likely someone that is bought into the v8 diesel fanboy club.
Unless you can tell me what is so great about v8 diesels compared to inline diesels and why they are basically only in pickup trucks, you fucking lose and my point still stands.
If you actually work on shit like you say, stop and think about how much inlines are used and maybe use your brain a little and try to figure out why they are used in damn near everything.
But yet v8 diesels are just in pickups...
And I'd love to know which V8 diesels you've owned.

Let's get 2 things straight fuck face. I'm not part of any fan boy clubs. Not even sure what that is. You'll have to enlighten me about boy clubs. Then you should know better. but you obviously dont because you are likely someone that is bought into the v8 diesel fanboy club.

Your point can't stand because you haven't made one. And any point you make is just your OPINION, not a fact.
Apparently you don't get out much because V8's and V style engines are used in all kinds of shit.
They're used in pickups because they stretch the torque curve out way better than an inline 6. They can perform better under different loads at different speeds across a wider RPM range. The inline 6's still work good, they're just better suited for work and constant heavy loads.
Inline 6's make torque across about 250 RPM range if you want them to live. That's why they go in semi trucks and some heavy equipment. There's nothing wrong with them, they're just better at 1 load, at a constant RPM.
But here's where it gets fun. No train has used an inline 6 for decades, the overwhelming majority of ships are V engines, along with gensets and pump stations. The only country in the world that still uses an I6 in most big trucks is the US. Europe and Australia have gone to mostly V8's.
Locomotive engine, V12
Ship engine, damn that fucker sure looks like a V style engine.
Genset engine, holy shit!!! Another V engine.
Better go tell all these companies they're using the wrong engine dude!

I don't have time to entertain you. And I sure as fuck don't have time to listen to you make claims, then want me to explain it for you.You tell me, im the confused one remember? You seem to think v8 diesels are great.
Feel free to start an intelligent debate and I'll reply when I can. But you've already said more than enough to make me believe an intelligent conversation is impossible.
If I were you I'd stop now anyhow. I spend about 60 or 70 hours a week repairing heavy equipment and large diesel engines. And it's been my life since I was born. So good luck. You should probably stick to giving advice on how to not test transmissions on 30 year old cars.
Have a great day.

So what's the reason? There is a reason why shitty v8 diesels are almost exclusively used in pickup trucks...
and not big generators of many different types...
road tractors...
farm tractors...
trains...
large ships... etc etc

Lmao. No baller here. Mine's an 08, I gave $28,500 for it (technically I gave them a paid for 05 CTS-V and 12k but the paper said $28,500)

Haha. The interior is my least favorite part of those trucks. It's literally almost identical to an impala interior, no "truck" feel to it whatsoever in my opinion.
I really like the 15's though. Real sharp if done right. Just wish they'd make something heavier than a 1 ton.

I do like a GMC. That black would suck to keep clean around here though.

Pics of the LMM?I was looking at a sweet lmm Duramax online. That truck was $31k and I showed the guy at work a picture of the Duramax. He said "Damn! That's pretty steep! I'd sell my truck to you for $32k..." And continued on about the extras it had. Then he said "yea! $34k and its yours!" I said, "You just said $32k?!" Then he told me he didn't know if he could let it go for $32k.. Hahaha..

Clearly you're confused. I've never seen an I line 6 out-pull a v8. Ever.6 in a row ready to tow.
8 in a V you sit when you pee.

You got it figured outwas reading on that... would cost anywhere from 3-5K to do it all said and done.
a lot of guys have been fine with a airdog kit and monitoring the fuel pressure. If you where driving long distances and didnt want to mess with that bs then yea id say investing that kind of cash would be worthwhile.
from what I gather the issue is the VP44 messes up when the lift pump starts slacking off on fuel pressure due to lack of cooling and lubrication. a new LP and keeping an eye on fuel line pressure and your golden. takes about 30mins to swap out lift pumps from what I read too
-
P-pump it.1999 24V cummins standard
80K miles
Brother and Father went half on it... paid 8500 off a friend
guess theyl be in the market for at the very least a fuel pressure gauge to keep track of that dreaded lift pump

Fuck, I'd have to buy an ultra light aluminum enclosed trailer for that to happen. No wonder that thing pulls so good. You could probably pull it with Laceys Honda.Maybe the 450 can keep up with the Dodge now.

I rarely take mine to downtown KC but I had to pick up some stuff that wouldn't fit in our suburban. Normally I park in a parking garage next to P&L but for whatever reason the little Persian security dude wouldn't let me this time. Told me my "back was too wide" lol. Oh well, the lot was closer and cheaper to where I went this time anyhow.
