  1. soo i just went and rode her around for a few miles...first of all wow what a difference from my stock cylinders. I was worried about my SST pipes choking back too much power, but i don't see myself needing to change pipes for what im gonna do with the bike...but it ran really smooth and never vibrated or sounded bad or harmful. just a vibration around idle

I am worried that the fuel could be the problem...its turbo blue 110 but its probably been sitting in the tanks in the gas station since this spring...I'll probably order some vp110 to see if that makes a difference.

I left the engine in the frame for the rebuild...the pistons wernt broke they were burnt up on the exhaust size, the rings were broken but still in the groove and all pieces were accounted for

Ive rebuilt alot of engines, top and bottom ends, and all the crank bearings were really tight...I am worried that the crank is slightly out of phase

Im thinking a bottom end rebuilt isnt far off... +4mm? :D

  2. how would a leak cause a vibration when it runs fine?

    19cc domes on 110octane +4 timing

    ported by HJR everything chamfered

to me it doesn't seem like the coolant system is circulating at all...there is coolant in the line up by the pump cover

the vibration isn't very abrupt...more subtle but i definitely notice it

no noticeable white smoke to indicate leaking coolant?

  3. I just got my banshee put back together after porting and adding a cool head. it started right up...idles fine sounds good except there is a noticeable rattling/vibration...also im not sure that it is circulating coolant the coolant lines feel limp....

the bottom end seemed really tight when i took it apart and the water pump was fine.

do I have to prime the cooling system?

I am worried that my chariot cool head didnt seal properly...also wondering if the crank could be out of true?

  4. Im going to be setting my shee up for flat track and ice racing, Im starting to look into what im going to do with my front end and finding a lot of options.

Whats the best way to get to the correct width and ride height?  Ill be using yfz450 shocks

    a arms

    wheel spacers

    offset rims

Lowering and widening kits that change a-arm mount location

Lowering and widening kits that change shock mount location

also using a sway bar with any of these?

  5. I love that serval motor, I was thinking that was the route I was gonna go. But I got the WSM cylinder ported ready to go for the same price as rebuilding my topend and porting. the same setup on a serval was over $800 more.....that's a lot of coin! for basically what? better port timings?

I thought Id be safe having a site sponsor do my work, now ur telling me hes no good?

what do you guys think of redlines Pro-mod trans?

  6. Banshee quit running the other night, opened her up to find the factory pistons the rings in pieces. soo I took the plunge and built it back up the way Ive always wanted too.  I left bottom end and clutch alone for now, ill get into that later.

68.5mm bore WSM sleeved cylinders 398cc or 417cc? bore to 71mm

TT/ICE (basically aggressive dune) port by Kevin at Herrjugs

Chariot Billet Head 19cc Big Bore Domes.. 110octane ?

Shearer Small bore Inframe drag pipes

    V force 4 reeds

    1piece billet intake with crossover

    35mm Keihin PWK

    6" k&n w/ outer wears

billet timing plate, 6 degrees per kevin

What do ya think? Am I overlooking anything?

  7. My current Banshee is stock besides V force 4 reeds and SST pipes and silencers, clamp on K&N's.  Im looking for more power but I cant do the motor mods and be able to afford new pipes...

Im considering either a +4 & porting kit for my stock cylinders from a site sponsor  OR a serval 421 kit....I know the sst pipes are somewhat limited do you think that I"ll have problems with these pipes with the setup I want?

Also what kind of mods should I be doing to the bottom end to support the extra HP?

  8. Just got a pretty nice banshee on trade, I've always wanted one!!  its pretty fast but I know there's a lot of things to do, to make these banshees faster...

Right now the engine is stock, it has FMF SST pipes and silencers, V force 4 reeds and K&n filters, tors removed.  to me it feels like the top end is going out, because of how easy it is to kick over... probably due to bad maintenance on the K&Ns i imagine... also it can be a little hard to start

i wanna keep the parts that are already on it,  but i have read that im somewhat limited with the SST Pipes... what can i do to get the most out of the shee and still keep the SST's??

What is going to give me the most noticeable difference... carbs, heads, timing, porting?

I have $800 to spend on this for now
