  1. Im thinking of buying a rack that goes on the bed of my truck that fits two quads on it, just so i dont have to go into the parking lot at silver lake. Even on slow weekends its a pain to get into the parking lot on saturday and sunday. I would recomend going on a thursday, so you can ride a couple days when the dunes are less crowded, and then trying to go in on the weekend to see all the sweet rides.

  2. carb has been cleaned. Guy said it ran fine last summer but hasnt been touched sense then, and the jets havent been changes. He also said it would idle fine. Now it wont idle. The plug looks wet. but its not too bad. i dont think it is the jetting. also looked up jetting and its pretty on point.

Aright i picked up a 86trx250r for really cheap but its not running right. i got a heck of a deal and i know its worth more in parts but id like to getting it running right so i can make my banshee a dune quad and the trx a trail quad. Please no crap for me having a honda atleast its a 2 smoker :yank: . Alright it starts first or second kick but it never has any power. it feels like the plug is getting gummed up, but it never clears out or opens up. I put a few new plugs in it, changed the gas(running premium with klotz 40:1) checked compression, cleaned air filter, took silencer off to make sure it wasnt packed full of shit. and nothing helped. Im thinking its either reeds or cdi box. Any suggestions? how do i tell if the reeds are bad?

  4. Okay so i know this isnt a banshee but my buddy has a 1990 lt250r and he had the local motor sports shop rebuild it the end of last summer. New crank, piston, bored. We broke it in right and we rode all fall togeather. This winter he was a bumbass and he was ripping on it in freezing weather without rejetting it, and suddenly it shakes really bad to the point where it is annoying to ride. Idk what the problem is. if you guys could help i would appretiate it. The motor mounts and everything are in good shape.

  5. I think im gonna be safe and just go through it rebuilt the top end. You guys are probably right on the octane booster lol. I would run turbo blue but its hard to come by where im at. i just know if i have it all apart i will want to get a cool head and port work, and possibly end up with a whole new new bottom end but o well.

  6. Okay soo i know this is a noob question. I am debating on rebuilding my top end, but dont really want to. I am pretty wrapped up in bulding my race car, and am a full time college student right now so its not like a have a whole lot of time, or funds. I was told it was rebuilt in 2011, and has probaly 12 weekends of HARD rides on it. i always ran 93 octane with ocatane +7 booster with amsoil dominator 42 to 1.  I am not very family with banshee engines, but have done my far share working on big block and small block chevy engins so i think i could handle it. i guess i just dont want to wast a weekend of riding if it siezes. Should i do it now or wait till after summer? i was told the engine is all stock? if i wated till after summer i think i would do some engine work and go with a 4 mill? any suggestions?

  7. Me and my family headed to the trails this weekend. On the trailer we had a banshee, raptor 700, and 2 polaris 500 4x4s . We got there early in the morning and we anxious to go cruise around. i had the bright idea to jump off my shee and take the polaris through the pond. well i sunk it over the handle bars, and sucked up water, soo thats 1 down. After we got it out we went over to an open field where we could fool around . My buddy on the raptor let his gf take it for a ride (bad idea) she smoked some cinder blockes in the middle of the field and gets launched off, me and my buddy take off after her to  make sure she is alright, and to stop the raptor before it makes its way into the river. i get about 50 feet and my throttle cable snapes(wtf it was BRAND NEW)  and my buddy smokes another cinder block with the polaris and rips the a arm complely off. So 3 of the 4 atvs were dinked in a matter of 2 hours, and the raptor was fine the only quad that actually crashed.

  8. i know its burning gear oil, because the oil level goes down, there is no way in hell im spitting that case i would put a yz250 engine in it before i split the case, or try and get like 500 bucks for it lol. i will do a leakdown test before i do anything hasty though. what do you think think of a hill climb blaster? +10 swing arm with an old yz400 in it? :yank:
