  1. I had Gary send my pipes directly to Performance Plating recommended by locogato11283. The price and quality were excellent. I ride in coal country PA in very dirty conditions and the finish has held up great. The Performance Plating finish is far superior to the chrome finish that comes on the Shearers. Again, money well spent.

  2. I have used Shearers and presently run Snipers on a 4mil ported Serval. I've never had it on the dyno, but in my opinion the Snipers pull harder out of the bottom and up the curve. On top both pipes feel about the same. I have had many other people ride my quad and all of them agree that the Snipers do pull harder. Again this is only my opinion and I don't have any hard data to back this up, but I don't regret spending the extra money to buy the Snipers, it was worth it.

  3. I bought a Streamline Stabilizer for the second time. When trying to mount it with the piston facing towards the front, I can't get the bolt on the collar, that connects to the piston, to clear the bottom of the stock radiator when turning the wheel left. The first one I bought got bound up and I bent the end of the piston. I had the same issue the first time, but managed to make it work by grinding the bolt down and with some interference with the bottom of the radiator. According to the directions, they have it mounted similar, but the Banshee in the illustration has an aftermarket radiator, which appears to be shorter in height allowing that bolt to easily clear the bottom of the radiator. Are the aftermarket radiators shorter in height as the picture illustrates? I already did a search on steering stabilizers, but the pictures offered are not taken at an angle where I can tell.

  4. I recently bought a set of Snipers and have them mocked up on the bike. Im running Keihin 35s, UPP intakes, and K&N pods. One filter just clears and the other is touching the pipe. Anyone running these pipes have any suggestions on how to get them both to clear. I thought about getting exhaust wraps from Jeff at FAST, but don't want to do that yet. Thanks

  5. You may end up regretting not going with the Serval first. I'm glad I didn't go with the 4 mil stock cylinder set up because I know I would have ended up with a Serval in the end anyway, but would have spent more money to get there. I bought the setup over a two year period to split up the cost. I was also skeptical at first that it would be to much power for what I was going to be using it for. After speaking with Jeff at FAST, he explained to me the power delivery would be very different from what I was envisioning.

  6. I went straight from a stock bolt on engine to the Serval. Originally, I was going to go with a 4mil with stock cylinders, but after doing all the numbers and talking with my builder I spent the extra money and went with the Serval. It was worth every penny I spent on the engine. I would speak to a few builders on this site to get an idea of price. I don't remember exactly what I spent. There were a lot of little odds and ends I never figured in. I spared no expense in making sure it was set up right and didn't cut any corners. I did not spend any extra money on any fancy billet pieces. I worked with Jeff and Cody from FAST Racing on the initial setup and those guys were great. I also worked with Cam from Redline to port the cylinders after I ran them as cast for two years. Cam was also excellent to deal with too and spent a lot of time answering my questions.

  7. I have a ported Serval 421 and love it. I have approximately 2500 miles on the motor now. I did have it ported by Cam at Redline after 1600 miles, so I did put new pistons and rings in it while I had the cylinders off, but didn't have to because the compression was still okay. Im still using the same 4mil Hot Rods Crank that I have had since new. It was still in spec when I had it apart, but it will need to be replaced at some point. A lot of the miles are trails, but I also run coal hills in PA. I don't beat the motor, but I do ride it. I had to switch to a 5.5 Gallon IMS Tank because the stock tank did not cut it. I went about 50 miles on and off of it and ran some hills this past weekend and burned through 4.5 gallons.

  8. I just bought a raw pair of Snipers from Gary. Over the winter, I will probably get them chromed.  I'm in NJ, but very close to PA, so its a viable option too. I want to use a shop I can take the pipes to, instead of shipping them out. I've never had anything chromed, so I wanted to know if anyone could recommend a shop. Thanks
