  1. Thanks Jammer, Is there anymore plugs other than the three I already unplugged? Jimmy
  2. I have ordered the Tors delete kit and have not got it in yet and i'm sure it has instructions but I'll ask just in case it don't. Now I removed the tops off the carbs and unplugged the two electrical plugs from the square cable box deals. And I unplugged the electrical plug from the thumb throttle. Am I suppose to cut the plugs off and wire the wires together or just unplug them? Also is there anymore plugs to unplug? Thanks for any advice. Jimmy
  3. Is the V-force 3 reeds a good choice? I bought a Banshee, Heads mildly ported, T-5 pipes,Cool head, pod filters,+4 timing plate. The new style don't have screws that holds the reeds ,it looks like they just snap on. Is this a good thing? Jimmy
  4. That's exactly what I mean, the guy at the machine shop said the same thing you did. Jimmy
  5. I was told that bean oil based oils carbon your engine and pipes up, is this true? I'm going to be trail riding and hitting a few straights. 93 octane . Jimmy
  6. I was wanting to install a Chariot timing plate and was wondering if you have to run race gas for a +4 advance? I'm going to run 93 octane at 32.1 mix and the compression is 122 and 124. 65 deg at sea level. Thanks Jimmy
  7. I talked to a machinist that builds two stroke engines and does machine work for the local Yamaha dealers in Houston and he said nothing to worry about. He said the engine would rattle while running if they were too loose. I just bought it last week and while it was idling I did neel down and listen and it sounded normal. Maybe I'm just looking for something but I just want to be sure it's ok. Thanks for the replys guys. Jimmy
  8. If you turn (spin) the flywheel, if you rock it like front back not pulling but twisting like to turn the engine over. If you twist it one direction then another it has a very slight amount of slack. If you just grabbed it and spun it you probably would not notice it, you have to barely twist it to notice it. Jimmy
  9. No, the flywheel is nice and tight and not moving on the key. It's really not slop I would say but more like a flex I would say. It doesn't move enough to put a measurement to it, well unless I got my dial caliper out. I was just wondering if a slight amount of slack in the rod bearings is ok to run or are the bearings bad. Jimmy
  10. I'm twisting it, If you wiggle it up or down or side to side it's tight. Thanks Jimmy
  11. Hey guys, I bought a '99 Banshee and I have asked questions on tuning here on the site and have got great advice. Now I bought a timing plate to run +4 on the timing and when I removed the the flywheel cover I noticed if you grab the flywheel and rotate it forward and backward there is a slight amount of slack. Does this mean my rod bearings are bad? When I do this I can hear the bearings a little. It's a very slight amount but then again is it suppose to be tight? Thanks for any advice. Jimmy
  12. Also how much better would it run to delete the whole air box and run dual K&N filters? If that's a good change then what size filters? And would the 300 main still be good to start with or should I go with the 310 first? Thanks Jimmy
  13. Thanks, I will start with 300's. Also what ratio should I run the pre-mix at? I will be running 93 octane and trail riding with some straights thrown in. Thanks. Jimmy
  14. I just bought a '99 Banshee and could use some advice. It has a Cool head, pro design intakes, boost bottle, still has tors,T-5 pipes,26 mm carbs,K&N 2 in to 1 filter with lid and snorkle. It has 122 compression on right and 124 on left. The bike runs strong on 3/4 to full throttle but boggy down low. It is leaking fuel out of the over flow tubes and the plugs stay wet. Now I pulled the carbs and this is what I found: 220 mains, 25 pilot, clip in 4th slot from flat end of needle. I live in Texas (Houston) hot and humid most of the time. Right now it's around 60 to 65 deg temps at sea level. I have read and done searches here on the site and this is what I think I should start out with for a ballpark tune: Tors delete, delete boost bottle, remove air box lid, 290 or 300 mains, 27.5 pilots, clip in middle position, air screws 1 1/2 off the seat, new needle and seats and sync the carbs. Thanks for any advice! Jimmy
