yea you can tell alot, as far as which way to jet, by using the choke and adjusting the air screws
-
so it didnt do it before the rebuild? if ur sure there arent any air leaks i would go a little richer on the pilots. mine was doing the same thing although i have stock carbs so urs may act differently. i ran my air screws all the way in and it did better, so i went with a size bigger pilot and now its perfect.

so u can run toomey pipes with 916 silencers? wow i bet that would sound wicked
-
alright thanks for the info, i guess ill be taking this route when i decide to redo my top end. is there really any considerable gains by running a blaster piston instead of a banshee piston? if so, why?
-
I dont have any experiance running 100 over. I know guys do it. It should be alittle more reliable if your running a stock stroke long rod crank.
Give noss a call he can hook you up with the domes. Make sure you get big bore blaster piston doms. The big bore has the o ring moved out a little farther.
so i can get the noss big bore blaster domes and they will bolt on to my pro design head without any machining? will i have to get the pistons machined any?
-
i had a feeling i would have to get the domes cut. my main concern was if it would be reliable with 66.5mm pistons in stock cylinders
-
im currently running a hotrods stock stroke crank with 5mm longer rods. ive got 66mm 795 series pistons and its about time for a rebuild. the furthest u can go in a 795 series piston is .080(66mm) over. is there a reason for this? can i run blaster pistons that are 66.5mm, which would be .100 over for banshee pistons, or would it be safe? ive got a pro design cool head with 21cc domes.

Between the outside of the swingarm and the inside of the frame. just had the same problem with mine bout a month ago, it was solid, the BFH wouldnt budge it one bit. had to cut it out.
-
im actually very interested in getting a set of there 68mm cylinders kits also but for stock stroke. i called them and there is only one type of porting and its for drag, he said they will be offering an mx port in another month or two though. do these cylinders work well with stock carbs?
-
Alright man, thanks for the help.
-
thanks for the replies. i never knew port matching was a normal process of re-sleeving; what would my displacement be if i went with 66-68mm sleeves?
-
hey guys ive got an extra set of cylinders that are ported for mx. id like to put them on the next time i rebuild, but they are on the last bore and have a big gouge in one of the cylinders. when i get them re-sleeved they will have to port match the new sleeves correct? Any suggestions on who i could send them to to have it done? thanks.

I went ahead and ordered it, im sure i will like the round house style alot better than the stock set up and also the -1. i have 15-41 gearing and figured id have to take out at least two links. thanks for the advice
-
Also, how many links would i have to remove from my chain?
-
I bought one and havent put it on yet. i def think it will be better more weight over the rear end more tracion.
yea thats what i was thinking also. i found a good deal on a laeger with the honda style carrier
-
What do you guys think about a -1 swingarm? i ride mostly trails and motocross tracks occasionally; just need to know the pros and cons over a stock length swinger. my current set up is +2 a-arms, durablue axle, stock swingarm and works suspension.
-
Compared to a 4stroke a banshee will wear you out on an mx track, depending on how the track is set up. i still wouldnt get rid of mine for a new 450 though
-
i might be alone on this...but im a big fan of that oldschool purple and yellow theme. every now and then there is a sweet looking one up on top in the banner for bansheehq. i think it looks good. and the red and yellow dont look bad. that early mid 90's stuff was kinda cool. i think.
but then again. everything i have and have had ends up being either red, black, or red and black.
yea i really like the purple and yellow theme. id love to see one in motocross form
-
yea i say stick with the black too. in my opinion id leave the bars and shocks the same color as they are now.

I have a pro design cool head with 20cc domes on pump gas. i noticed alot more bottom end power
-
i just switched from bel-ray to klotz because it was easier for me to find around here. didnt expect it to make it run any better but it actually did, alot better off the bottom, and it smells really good too, lol.

I know some of you guys have seen this pick... So I guess for those that havent, here is my "wherever I ride beast" It does just fine on an MX Track tho. I havent entered and raced any MX races but I would, I hang with fast guys on tRX's all day.... Like my buddies in the backround. Hes faster than me but doesnt make my bike look like it shouldnt be out there thats for sure. And there nothing hes hitting that I'm not either. So call it what youj will I guess, I know I'll take anyone who wants it in the trails tho! lol
It looks nice; i really like the blue and white 98's.

i ran mine once with an o ring missing and you could actually hear the whole bearing spinning inside the case halves. i would highly recommend installing a new o ring since u already have it torn apart
