Here's a small update:  Banshee Digital Toolkit v2.10

https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=XZGsQqkZlB5cKFPhCRuomlYSYEYsdBcWtbsk (updated link as of May 20, 2020)

Here are some additional hard to find resources:

    https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=kZp9LqkZxczjHSI0FM88LemJSD0nSR7hvkNX

These are the latest links.  I just had someone check and they were able to download everything.  I can't edit any posts I make after a brief period of time so I have to keep adding posts instead of just updating the links.

When you click the download button, Download as ZIP, it prompts for you to create a free pCloud account, you can or you can click, No, thanks. Start the download.

I've shared the folder and each of the files, but it appears that it won't allow you to download just a single file without a direct link.  It will allow you to download all of the folder's contents as a ZIP file (word of caution there is a 435.5MB file in the mix).  It also appears to allow you to download individual files if you choose more than 1.

  2. My banshee is running stock jets 250/25

FMF gold series and Fmf silencers, I was informed it also has mild porting.

I don't know enough about jetting to figure this out on my own so a little help would be appreciated.

With the Jets it has now it would run very lean and get way too hot right?

I ran it up and down the hill for a minute and it rode with a lot of power and felt solid but I realized that probably wasn't the best idea without knowing what I should be running and by the time I pulled it back into the garage the rubber in the exaust clamps had started melting and smoking. I've parked it and it's on the lift now.

I'm assuming it needs more fuel so a larger jet is needed but correct me if I'm wrong.

How do I determine what jetting I should have?

Try this to get you a little more knowledge about jetting: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/133410-Banshee-Digital-Toolkit#entry1695166

    Do it till it Hertz

  3. How to download without an account...

    1. Follow the 4Shared.com links
    2. Select the file that you're interested in downloading
    3. Copy the file's URL (e.g.: http://www.4shared.com/get/fMvcVwpw/bansheedigitaltoolkit_v201xlsx.html)
    4. Goto:  http://www.4server.info/
    5. Paste the URL in the input box:  "put link of your file (www.4shared.com/type/id-file/name-file.html) in the box"
    6. Click:  "Generate Link"
    7. It will generate a direct download link and begin downloading the file!  (If it doesn't autostart click on the highlighted file name NOT the button)

    Example output:  http://www.4server.info/download/4shared.com/zip/fMvcVwpw/bansheedigitaltoolkit_v201xlsx.html

  4. A couple things could cause them to close. The most obvious would be the piston is hitting the electrode. Carbon build-up on the piston top from running too much oil. Or an overheat/detonation condition. You could place a washer on the spark plug to raise it a little just to see if it's hitting or overheating. If it's hitting try cleaning the carbon off of the piston top, you can use a spray bottle with just water, warm-up the motor, take the air filter(s) off, and lightly mist the inlets while keeping the RPMs up. Water does not burn, but steam does compress so don't get too crazy; you should see a lot more smoke than usual. When it's done steam cleaning the black smoke will subside.

Or it could be running too rich. You might also consider altering your premix ratio (less oil).

Other things to think about why it could be hitting:

Is the head shaved too far?

Are you missing a head gasket?

    Are the plugs too long?

Are the piston domes too tall?

    Is the stroke to long?

    Etc.

If it's running lean that's a meltdown on it's way.

  5. It could still possibly fire when the RPMs are up if there's a gap in the plug cap that will let a hot enough spark jump. With improper resistance you can experience erratic idle, high-rpm misfire, power loss at certain RPMs and abnormal combustion. I would get 2 new caps and go from there.

  6. Not sure what the elevation is, it's out here in the coal region so probably higher up. But everyone I ride with that have banshee's ride in the same spots and don't have issues with their jetting. That's the troublesome part..

If your plugs are wet fouling then you're rich...

    • Those reeds are going to richen up your mid-range you may need to go leaner on your needles (move the clip up 1)
    • If you go to 260s does yours pop?

Go here and find your elevation: www.earthtools.org

    • Then adjust accordingly: about +1 on the mains for every 1500' higher and -1 for every 1500' lower

Also as the temperature goes up it gets richer (air gets thinner as it's heated)

    • Ambient temperatures above 90 deg F = -1 on the mains
    • Ambient temperatures below 60 deg F = +1 on the mains or you could put your airbox lid back on when the temp drops

Don't know what your premix ratio is:

    • 20:1 = up to +2 on the mains
    • 24:1 = up to +2 on the mains
    • 32:1 = 0 on the mains
    • 40:1 = up to -2 on the mains
    • 50:1 = up to -2 on the mains

  7. i already had my carbs cleaned and tuned, so he said, but how do i do the cap test with my multi meter

    Go here: https://rapidshare.com/users/banshee/

    Select: Banshee Docs

    Download: Yamaha_Banshee_YFZ350_Service_Manual__Searchable_.zip

    (Ctrl+F) Search for: Troubleshooting 1

there are some items to start testing.

To test the ohms across the plug caps simply remove the plug caps from the wires, they usually just unscrew. Then measure resistance by placing an ohmmeter probe on each end of the plug cap (metal that touches the sparkplug and metal that screws into the wire); it should be 5K. See other test procedures in the doc referenced above for a method to test the complete assembly first.

Another item to check is the polarity of the coil wires - Orange wire to "+" and Black wire to "-", many were backwards from the factory (note: you may need to go 1-size larger on the mains and adjust the air screws).

If you have T.O.R.S. still hooked-up you could disconnect it at the little brain box - it's mounted on the left-side of the upper frame rail kind of between the petcock and the bottom of the radiator. It has a white three-way connector just unplug it and start it up. If you no longer have T.O.R.S. it should definitely be disconnected.

  8. This poll has had 60 views and ZERO responses. (That might shed some light on your question.) :o

But whatever it is....Re-name the thing because "Banshee Tech Spreadsheet" doesn't really tell me what it is I'll find if I click on it. (Sounds more like an accountant's homework for a weekend.)

As for the original name of your post "Banshee digital tool kit".......I've never even looked because I was thinking it was something different. :shrugani:

Call it the "Top 20 things Chuck Norris needs to beat into your head about Banshees" and you might get more looks.

Better yet....name it - "All the tricks those dumbs shits at the Blaster Forums wish they knew about Yamahas"

Hey WINDY thanks for the input!

I'm feelin the Chuck Norris vibe... if everyone would like it renamed I'm not attached to anything. Like I said, this is just a little something I did to give back to the Banshee family. If it's of value to the masses then I'll continue to dedicate time as I can to improve it, If it's not I'd rather not waste your time.

I also see that 4shared is getting more difficult to navigate so I've created a new space on Rapidshare: https://rapidshare.com/users/banshee/

I'm open to ideas and suggestions as well.

  9. Here's what I got...

Basically, I put a little effort into something that I thought could answer a lot of the common questions that we all see on the forums. Like: What jets should I use?, How do you do a plug chop?, How do you sync the carbs?, How can I tell if it's rich or lean?, How can I figure out what year my bike is?, etc. I haven't seen a lot of people taking advantage of the updated spreadsheet and I haven't had anyone comment in awhile. So should I count it as dead or does someone still see value in further updates???

  11. I've read you don't need to change the pilot

    http://www.toomey.co...nstructions.pdf

    Here's what it says:

    1. Needle on the 4th groove

    2. #280 Main jet (sea level, #270 for hot days or high altitude <2500')

    3. Float setting = 21mm

    4. Airscrew at approx. 1.5 turns out from full in. (Effective range .5 to 2.5)

    5. Standard pilot jet (#25)

The #280 is the sea level jet and is good up through 2500 feet density altitude. On particularly cold days or at very low altitudes (winter in Glamis, CA) you may need a #290 or #300. The #270 Jet is for operation higher than 2500 feet density altitude. Conversely, at high altitudes, above 5000 feet you may need a 260, 250 or even less depending on elevation and temperature. We haven't tested at these altitudes, you would have to test it yourself when you are there.

Take it for what it's worth, if that doesn't work for ya try:

    1. Needle on the 3rd groove

    2. #310 Main jet

    3. Float setting = 21mm

    4. Airscrew at approx. 1.5 turns out from full in. (Effective range .5 to 2.5)

    5. Larger pilot jet (#27.5)

  12. wow you must have done a ot of work here. the only thing i have a problem with is that i can't down load it becasue its a zip file and i don't have that. :(

I'm not sure what OS you're running, but zip files are just compressed files to save size and to speed-up downloads. By default the big 3 OSs (Linux, Mac, and Windows) can open zip files without installing any additional software. If you want to create password protected or higher compression zips you'd need a third-party app such as 7-zip, Stuffit, etc. You shouldn't have any problems downloading or unzipping (opening) it.

  13. linky no worky :cry::confused:

    To download...
