  1. I will always recommend a pump for the 1/4 mile. I will say this, we have successfully been fast on alky with no pump in the 1/4. I choose to run fast on race gas now. I guess the saying once you go to alky, you will not change back to gas; doesn't apply to me. My opinion is gas has a lot less headaches. ;)

Haha, only if your lazy or you like letting your bike sit around with alky in the tank where it can pick up moisture.

  2. The strut is a Marvin shaw shock. The spindle has to be made custom. I would be more specific in description & photos, but the set-up is not right yet.

So a regular Marvin Shaw slides into the spindle setup? Where can I get a spindle custom made? Does the spindle clamp the shaw in there some kind of way so that it doesn't pop out? How do I get ahold of you? I used to drop you a PM here from time to time and I thought about doing it before I started this thread, but didn't. I went back and looked the other day because I was curious about a few things, but I didn't see a PM option. Thanks for everyones' replies thus far.

  3. We still don't have this set-up the way I like. We need to modify it to hopefully get it where I will be happy. There's nothing wrong with the workmanship, but something is wrong in the geometry. Yes, it has front brakes.

Looks neat Bryan where did you come up with the struts at? I'm looking for a place to purchase the struts with the spindle, etc so all I have to do is fab the top shock mount and the lower a-arms.

  4. The torque rod with changes in swingarm design, solved our tracking problems.

I'm assuming you know we are running a stock chassis with single a-arms. We like the design and weight savings, but it's too twitchy at speed. Still trying to figure out how to fix it.

Are you talking about the motor mounts? We are still stock with a couple of mods and looking to try a few more changes.

Yes I know that you are running the stock chassis with the single arms. what do you mean by twitchy? I am assuming that you are using the stock rubber mounts front and rear with the washers in them? Ever think of trying out some solid mounts? Does the engine feel like it is twisting in the chassis? Just thinking that if you use solid mounts it might help 'tie' the frame together a little better.

  5. I guess you are talking about the torque strut. Sorry, the only picture I have doesn't show it well, but I'll post it.

It's just a 1" diameter, around 36" long with right& left handed heim/rod ends. One end fastens to the rear of the swingarm and the other end fastens to the swingarm pivot bolt. We put a little bit of preload on the swingarm with it.

I can kind of see it where it bolts to the swingarm. I am going to assume that you lengthed the rod to try and keep that side from 'walking' forward and causing tracking problems. How do you like the single arm chassis? You still running the rubber mounts or did you go solid?

  6.

The only thing I didn't weight was the 1" diameter aluminum torque strut that goes on the left side. We used larger diameter tubing for the bottom rails and along with the extra gussets and supports. It solved our tracking problem during the 1st 330' of the track.

Happen to have any pictures of what you are talking about here?

  7. What are you running for the new turbo? It is good that you ditched the old one because the exhaust side of the turbo is too big for your application and those turbos have small shafts that tend to break in the event of a backfire.

  8. If your timing is too low, the mixture will burn going out the exhaust and the energy that should be applying work to the top of the piston and then transferred through the water is going out the exhaust...

  9. Looking for a set of stock pipes. Not really interested in the entire pipe, just the flange. I have a little project I am working on and need a couple of flanges. Thanks

  10. do you have the rz cylinders up for sale also?

No, I am going to keep the set that I was running, in case I want to revisit it down the road. I have another set of RZ cylinders and another RZ cool head that is brand new. They are all ported differntly and I wanted to go with a setup with a little milder port timing (the reason for the switch). Since I am switching back over to the banshee cylinders I wanted to sell this head and put it towards purchasing one for the banshee cylinders. Thanks

  11. I have a RZ350 Pro Design cool head for sale. It is fairly new I have about two rides on it. I am switching back to banshee cylinders and can no-longer use this head so it is up for sale. It needs a cleaning, I just pulled it off and snapped some pictures of it. Comes with the 20cc prodesign domes, studs and acorn nuts. These are hard to find used and I am asking $150 for it. I am also open to a trade as I need a head for the banshee cylinders. Thanks

What are u willing to trade for and will this fit on vitos cylinders

It only works with the RZ cylinders as they have a wider water jacket around the exhaust port.
