  1. Which of the options below do you think I would be better off going with to get some spark arrestors for mine? This may also apply to the person who started this thread. The only mods to my Banshee are FMF Fatty Gold Series pipes, FMF Powercore silencers, and a K&N Filter. I would probably only go to Silver Lake a few times a year and possibly ride the DNR trails in the upper part of the lower peninsula a couple of times. I am new to this so I don't necessarily need the "best of the best". 1. Buy different FMF silencers that have the spark arrestors in them - $270 2. Buy Sparky slip-on spark arrestors for my silencers - $150 3. Buy a pair of used stock silencers that already have the spark arrestor in them - $40 Would the stock ones REALLY hurt performance? Would Powercores be quiet enough with the Sparky's if I re-pack them? Kevin
  2. I can't say that I saw anyone with a spark arrestor when I was there in June, but then again, I didn't have a quad then and wasn't really looking that hard. Wouldn't they be VERY noticable at the end of the pipes? The spark arrestors aren't built in to the silencers? You need a state park sticker too? I guess I was under the assumption that was only for the vehicle driving in from the street (regardless if it going into the dunes or not). That's good to know.
  3. Yes, I would also like to know. I also just bought one, a 1989, and was thinking of going there yet this year some time. I have the same pipes/silencers. It seems to me that they can't be all THAT strict about the sound there. They may not be fully enforcing the sound laws. I was up there with my truck the last weekend of June and there seemed to be some pretty louds quads there. Trucks too, for that matter. Kevin
  4. Do you just have to pull the clutch pressure plate off to install this or is there more involved?
  5. Where do I get the Cascade one? I haven't been able to find it. So it is better than the F.A.S.T. one because the flat spots are on the front side? Is it #10 in this picture?
  6. OK, but no one really answered my question yet.
  7. Is the one in the link below the same thing as the Cascade one you are referring to (or the F.A.S.T. one)? Pancake Adjuster
  8. OK, so this is a good mod even for the average rider (no racing) and has REAL benefits? It's not just hype or a part needed for only racing?
  9. Well, I do plan on taking it to Silver Lake sand dunes once I get everything wrapped up on it. I have never ridden an atv of any sort there yet but I am assuming that some of the hills I will end up coasting down the back side with the clutch in. So you are saying that this is what welds the ball to the rod? Kevin
  10. Are these pancake adjusters worth it for a very mildly modified 'shee with only pipes & K&N filter that will I will be running on both sand dunes & trails? I have seen a lot of "gimmick" parts before for other things that I get into repairing/modding myself so I want to find out if anyone really thinks there is a benefit for this part for just normal all-around use. No racing or anything. Kevin
  11. I just bought my first Banshee a month ago and I may have to adjust my clutch inside the case as well. It seems to want to grab when the hand lever is more than 1/2 way released. I tried the adjuster by the hand lever both directions but it didn't really help in either direction. If I adjusted it out too far it would make pulling the hand lever VERY stiff. From what I read here, I believe I understand the process. My question is that should the lever in the photo be real hard to push? I still have the hand lever and cable attached but it would seem to me that if I just pushed on the lever by the case those the cable being attached shouldn't make a difference. The lever down by the case is very difficult to push in and I am not sure I will even be able to push it all the way with just my fingers. I don't feel any real resistance other than spring tension, though. When I bought it I was told the clutch was recently replaced but I don't know what brand it is. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Kevin
