  1. Hey everyone, I recently did a full tear down on my banshee to the frame for new paint and powdercoat. I didn't do anything to the motor except clean it up.

Tonight I took the carbs off the motor to clean them and in the process took the caps and the slides out to clean everything better.

    NO TORES on this BTW....

I installed and clamped down the carbs in to the reed bodies and have easy access since the fuel tank is not in yet.... However when I position the slides in to the carbs and put them to the bottom then screw on the caps as soon as I pull on the throttle both slides come up and once they clear the idle screw they turn about 45 degrees or so .... Making it so when I let go of the throttle they do not seat back down to full closed... They just sit on the idle screw.

What is casuing this? I have been beating my head up all night about this and can't figure out where the problem lies.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

  2. I remember my dad showing me this trick with a big rig diesel engine years ago. The old 2 stroke detroit diesels would run in reverse if you stopped cranking the engine right before it fired. The built up compression would actually spring back and the engine would fire and run in reverse (blowing exhaust out the intake and vise versa). While this is not good for the engine it is possible under the right circumstances.

  3. Hello fellow riders... My friends and I are going to be making the trip down from western canada to Winchester Bay for the first time in a couple weeks. I was wondering if you who are in the know can answer a couple questions for me so that there are no supprizes for us when we get down there.

    1) What is the best campsite to stay at that is closest to the dunes so that we can still push our bikes out at night and go for some night rides without too much problem. If you have a phone number or website address for the campsite that would be appreciated so I can call and make some reservations.

    2) Is there a OHV permit office near by as we all need to renew our permits this time down to Oregon? If you know the address for the place that would be awesome.

    3) Is there a bike shop there where we can get flags? Ours are old and we need to get new ones.

    4) Is there a place where we can get a set of paddles? One buddy does not have any yet and wants to get a pair when we are down there.

    Thanks in advance guys!

  4. Ok well scrap that place then! We like to ride at night most nights as part of our fun.

Can you do that at Winchester Bay?

I notice it says that the beach is closed to OHV yearound. Whats that mean? No wet sand to drag on?

I just don't want to make the 10 hour drive for nothing.

Also does anyone know about reserving spaces on the dunes for camping? Who do I call?

Also is there some place close to Winchester Bay to get a new OHV permit? Mine is expired.

    Thanks!!

  5. I was reading this here:

    http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_oregon_florence.htm

We are thinking of going this summer and was wondering what that 10pm curfew means?

We usually go to Sand Lake and people are riding all night there. We usually camp out in the dunes though.

Is florance the same way? Can you camp out in the dunes or do you have to be in the campsites? Is the curfew for the campsites or something?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi guys, I have a few things here I need to get rid of...

    First of all the pipes...

I think these are an old set of DG pipes, they came on my bike but have since upgraded to Toomey T6's... The pipes have no holes but they are in need of a repair on the siliencers where they slide together in the front pipes. The connector hose pieces need to be replaced and I am missing ONE of the springs for the front but you should be able to use your stock ones. These pipes just need a little TLC and they will be good to go. You are buying AS IS, what you see is what you get. $100.00 plus shipping.

    Secondly my thumb throttle kit...

I took this off my bike becasue I HATE twist throttles on ATVs... Comes with cable (its in working condition but has a slight kink in it, pushes and pulls smooth though), twist throttle, left grip, carb caps, that is all you should need to convert yours. You are buying AS IS, what you see is what you get. $45.00 plus shipping.

Lastly is my stock front shocks... Not sure if anyone would even want them but make me an offer. They work great.... I just replaced them with 450 shocks. Again they are sold AS IS.

I live in Canada so realize shipping to the USA is expensive at times but I will only charge you what it costs me to ship the item and buy any supplies I use (boxes, tape etc etc) to ship your item. I ONLY accept PAYPAL.

Please PM me any questions you may have... I have not boxed everything up yet so I can't give accurate shipping quotes but I will try my best,

    Thanks

  7. damn this thing is sweet. what are some more of the mods on it? gears? lockers? lift?

Not a lot of mods other then the suspension lift, BDS Shocks, Stainless Brake lines, Backing Plate eliminators, Detroit Locker in the rear... Thats about it. I have aWinch and all that but need to buy winch bumpers from Marlin Crawler for the truck cause they look bad ass.

Its a diesel too. 3L engine but am trying to get some money together to turbo it. Right now it only has 68 Hp. Gutless to say the least.
