Kevin is the man, I have a blast on my ported stock stroke. He's a straight up and honest dude, I'm a hjr customer for life!
-
I would talk to Kevin about running smaller domes and more compression since he did the motor work.
thanks for the replies
-
since i rebuilt my motor and had my cylinders done by herr jugs i have been running 20cc domes in my cool head, i have a brand new set of 18cc domes that i purchased at the same time, but decided to run the 20cc so i wouldnt have to run race fuel, would there be any downfall to changing to the 18's and running race fuel? I know all the benefits just wasnt quite sure if there was a down side.

im thinking maybe he has more pics coming of the pipes?

i've been looking for something similar to this but maybe just hold 1 gas can and a cooler rack also with making it easy to remove like the 1 pin idea would be awesome.I am seriously about to delve into rear bumper fab. I will make one like this,i think its sick and a perfect accessory for long trail rides. -
lol thats some funny shit

Hey quick question I want to put vforce reeds in my 04 banshee will I need to mess arounf anything else when I install them....jetting. Let me know and will this have a signiicant increase in my preformance?
you shouldn't need to rejet but i would definately do a plug chop after you install them and check for leaks, as far as noticing a big difference in performance all i can tell you is that i noticed much better throttle response, hopes this helps.
-
ya i hate to admit it but the craptor
-
that the one that runs throgh the clutch pack right? if so then yes its adjusted properly.
-
i got the clutch issue worked out, but now it seems really hard to shift just sitting with the bike running or not when i run through the gears it seems alot harder to shift than before i put this new clutch in. any ideas?
-
ok guys i must be retarded this is not the first time i have installed the clutch on my shee but i am definately haveing some kind of issue, i put new steel and friction plates in yesterday and when i go to tighten up the bolts on the springs they bottom all the way out and then when you pull the clutch lever the pressure plate wont move, if i loosen the bolts for the springs a little bit then pull the lever the pressure plate moves out like it should. I also noticed that the pressure plate is not touching the last friction plate isn't it supposed to? what am i doing wrong here guys? any help is greatly appreciated, i am leaving for the dunes tomorrow so i need to get this figured out. thx, Tom

make sure you have good fuel flow.I'm sure you already checked that.
ya plenty of fuel.
Check it for air leaks. If the outside temps have cooled off quite a bit, since you had it out last, you're probably going to have to rejet it.checked for leaks and temps have not changed that much had it out last week riding, thanks for the ideas guys, anyone have anything else i might try?
-
ok so i put a new top end on my bike everything went good got it fired up right away no problems, i gave it some throttle and it sounded really good, i let it idle and it just sounded perfect, i gave it some more throttle still sounds good. i let it idle down, i do this for a minute or two i push it out of my garage while its still running i get the bike outside and go to give it a lil throttle again and its starts to bog i let off and it idles down i give it more throttle and it bogs when it bogs down it sounds like when your trying to rev and the parking brake is set, hopefully you guys have some ideas that might point me in the right direction, thanks. Tom.
btw the jetting or anything didn't change and was spot on before i tore it down to put the new pistons in.

my personal vote is gonna go to HJR i have his dune/hillshoot port on my stock stroke and it flat out moves

damn man thats a killer deal, i thought i was doing good when i picked up my 2003 banshee for $1500
-
can you guys put me in the general area for jetting just picked up another banshee with a set of dmc alien pipes and a uni filter no lid on box where should i start with the jetting, temps are mid 80's, 900 feet above sea level, stock carbs, what main and what needle posistion do these like? Also think im gonna throw a set of pods on the carbs so if you could help me out with a main jet size for the pods too that would be great. thanks in advance, tom

I know this has been gone over a bunch and I've done some research just want to see what you guys think is happening here, as I just picked this bike up and threw a new top end in it. Bike starts easy runs pretty good but starts breaking up on the top end a little. The r/s plug looks a lot different than the l/s
Fresh top end
320 mains
Stock needle I believe, set at 4th notch from blunt end
Stock pilot jets 1 1/2 turns out
Toomey 2 into 1 filter
Toomey t4 pipes
Stock head
Compression after rebuild is 135
Elevation 600ft
Temp 75
