  1. hey guys, i got a set of shearers, i had to fab up some hangers to mount them so they wouldn't rub the head and rattle but i'll NEVER own another set of pipes. they sound wicked and my bnanshee runs great with them. it idles like a champ and i love how they hit!

  2. hey guys. my bikes leakin oil out the main seal right where the sprocket is located. turns out that a bolt is spinning and there was a helicoil put in proviously. so what can i do as a permanent fix since the jerk i bought my bike off of had pout the helicoil in? can i take that one out and "re-helicoil" it or tap it and use a new sized bolt? it's on the top case half in the back over the sprocket,so what do u guys think i should do?

  3. hey man first of all welcome aboard! 2nd, this is THE website when it comes to help for ur bike! there are alot of guys on here who are reputable builders and that really know there stuff as well as many others who do as well. i myself just rebuilt my top end. as long as u get everything u need the only major tool u need is a torque wrench. do not do it without one. the head and cyclinders should be torqued according to specs. i'm sure many others will be chiming in here but if u need a few pointers pm me or keep the thread alive. the right way to do it is to pull the cyclinders off as well to make sure theres no scarring even if it's minor and u can only tell by checkin ur bores and mic'in everything. cas u may need a bore and hone. so what are u waiting for, get rippin her apart!

  4. anything i an improvemenmt over stock. i say def get reeds....they do make a difference and the more mods the better. i'd rock v force's again. i love the throttle response they deliver. the 2 extra hp u would probally notice or see on a dyno if they really do give u it. but the throttle response is soooo much better. u can tell. i agree with everyone! so grab some reeds and rip it up man!

  5. hey man,

pete here! i don't know if u read my post in the "general" section but long story short, i gave my cyclinders to a WELL known local builder. he was supposed to bore, deck , and port and polish my cyclinders. he told me 2 weeks. it took me 2 months and 1 week to get my stuff back and the only thing that was done was the bore. so i'm left where i started in the first placed and took it apart to port it in the 1st place! i wanted to do it myself but between work and school i didn't have the time. now that schools out i do have the time. i'm well capable but it was really just a matter of time. well that's my case. i'd really like to try ur templates out and write up a full review. my mods are in my sig incase u were curious. i do alot of hillclimbs and love lineing up with people to drag for fun, sometimes for serious. thanks for the oppurtunity man! i got some cases that neeed some cleanin b4 i start to reassemble. so let me know! my cyclinders are on my work bench ready to go as we speak!

  6. well guys good news and bad. but i still am not thru with this guy. i got ahold of his brother and he wwent to his house and let me in the shop and waited for me. i got the name of the garage and stuff who did bore my cyclinders so i'm gonna call that place on monday and straighten everything out with the police and all. good news it i got my cyclinders and brand new piston kit back! so we'll take it from here. i'm gonna do a clean up port myself with a race logic kit . anything is better than nothing. i'm gonna help it breathe a little. i wish i had sent it out or had just done it my self in the first place. so out the porting tools come and monday i'll start my own work and i'll let u all know how it goes. slow and steady thats for sure! thanks guys! i'll be keepin u all updated and i'll get some pics of my powdercoated frame and parts so u all kno how the build is goin!

  7. update for yas. i got in touch with him and he told me he'd contact his brother. i waited an hour and he wopuldn't pick back up....SO i called his brother, who was on his way home from work said he'd call me when he got home and then he'd meet me over "the shop". no phone call. it's 9 pm here and he's still not answering. so another day in the books and this is really fuckin ridiculous! excuse my french. but i wanna RIDE! anybody got a port logic porting template for me or something i'm about to do these things myself when i get them back cas it's the whole reason i ripped it apart! i do all my own work and am good with the grinder.

i'm comin down to calling the police. cas they don't seem too worried about takin their time. and wasting mine. thanks for the input guys! yet another reason to love all of u AND the HQ. i'll be back with another update 2morrow! after a day like this i need a beer ... . . . . .

  8. long story short. i give a local builder my cyclinders and pistons for a bore , port, and polish job. 2 months goes by and he won't return my phone calls or nothing! not one to complain but after this long i go to his house. he was not home. gone fishing or something. talk about priorities! so what wuld u do if u were me!????? after tellin me "oh ya they'll be done this weekend" for a month in a row and then some i'm a really unsatisfied customer right now and i don't know what this guy expects me to pay him right now. is it just me or am i gettin jerked around? man i'm frustrated.
