  3. ok, so all PMs have gone out, i've answered all the questions and am going out to garage for a bit to get some work done. i'll check back in a little bit.

crazyj, i sent you a pm earlier. then i just got one from you but not in reply to the one i sent. the button on your message says "you cannot reply" so it won't let me for some reason. look for my pm to you and if you don't see it, pm me your phone number and we can text or something.

  4. How much for the stock top end

    PM sent Tankdogg....

Also wanted to add an item that I forgot about. I have a pair of rear Hardkor hubs that are Honda pattern. So, if you have a few Hondas in the stable and get tired of being limited in usage for what tires / wheels work with which bikes... this fixes all that. Use all your honda stuff on your yamahas. this should fit the YFZ as well and possibly the raptor. All billet aluminum, they're black anodized and super trick. They're virtually new. I used them in the sandbox once.

    Pretty much like this:

Everybody's PMs have been replied to. I'm tired and am going to bed so do not expect a reply until the morning please. I'm going to start ripping more stuff off. I'll get some pictures up as I can and will respond asap as well.

  7. Alright. So, I have an 06 with not a lot of hours at all, maybe 10 or 15. Bike is stock except I pulled the stock jugs, pistons, carbs, intake and set it aside in a box and replaced them with passion ported cylinders, vforce reeds and a pair of 33mm carbs. Carbs have since been sold.

There's a crank bearing that seems to be going out. I'm not 100%, need to take a better look but there might be a slight scar on the cylinder wall and there was for sure some heat on the piston. With this little amount of hours, i'm not sure what happened but the bike has mostly sat for awhile. I recently changed the oil and everything and went to get it started (for a sale) and there was crank noise. Tore top end down and saw some piston heat and scoring. I'm guessing something happened with lube to it. So, rather than screw with it, I've decided to do a complete part out.

I'll get an inventory list going here in the next day or so. Frame, headlights, bolt hardware and harness may be spoken for. Pipes and aftermarket carbs are gone. Still have stock carbs and possibly a 38mm 2-1 carb w/ oversize bowl setup. Other than that, everything else is up for grabs. So, if there's something you need specifically, let me know and hopefully I can get straight to that part and get it to you.

Here is a quick picture I have of the bike before I pulled the top end. These wheels are not part of it, they're honda. It has the stock black rear wheels and tires that match the front. I also have some HardKor hubs that fit Yamaha and are Honda pattern. Not sure yet if I'm selling but I'll think about it, they're expensive and hard to buy back.

  8. For Sale:

    Paul Turner Hi Revs

Fatboy Silencer Quiets (w/ the turndown)

I purchased these new for an 06 Banshee LE that I bought with nearly any hours. I put these on and some ported cylinders and went on one weekend trip. That's it. I bet they didn't accrue over 4 or 5 hours as I had my 450r there as well and rode it mostly. The bike has sat for a good bit while I moved and stuff. Now I've decided to go another direction and am selling these. They're great great pipes, one of the best imo.

I'll let them go for $500 shipped.

  10. man.....that is an odd one....it almost does look like bearing munched itself....but you say it all feels tight. how hard do you have to jack around on it to get it to clunk.....wonder if your flywheel nut came off and its your flywheel free wheeling on the cranks tapered shaft. either that or its got to be a bearing....

good idea on the flywheel, didn't think about that. i'll pull the cover and see. it had lost some compression so i wanted to look at the top end and with the burn score marks glad I caught it when i did. i'll check the flywheel here in a sec. got to get some parts up for sale.

the rods in relation to each other are tight as hell, no play whatsoever.

  11. anybody have any comments about what I'm talking about... i could give a shit about the differences between a yfz and a fuckin banshee......

booxzzy, i understand you're trying to help, no probs.

  12. i think he was talking about crankshaft noise so i said i had the similar problem on my yfz450r so why would u on earth bring up differences between 4 strokes and 2 strokes and their setups.

and again no matter is it 2 stroke or 4 stroke crankshaf does the same job on both of them.

    correct me if im wrong.

well, the rods are tight as hell, thinking it must be a bearing issue or something. thinking i might sell some parts now as the quad isn't in full sale condition. pt hi's, carbs and ported cylinders.

  13. Lower end was never my specialty. Pretty fresh Banshee here, not many hours on it. Did the top end on it like a year ago. It ran friggin hard and super nice, plugs always looked good but again, not many hours on it. Put some fresh fuel in, everything looked good, started right up. Ran it for a few then killed it. When I killed it, I heard a clunk; wasn't sure what it was. So, went to start it today and definite clunk in relation to the kicker. I could rock the kicker and repeat the clunk.

Tear down commenced. Pistons had some heat marks on skirts, could see a little vertical wear marks on the cylinder walls. Appears that it didn't lube properly or the oil wasn't right but, I'm not an idiot, this isn't my first banshee and everything was done like it has in the past w/o issue. Dunno what happened this time. Anyways, took a vid of the clunk when I got the top end off. You can hear the clunk when I rock the crank. If I push down on both the connecting rods, they're tight as heck, so not sure if it's a bearing issue or something else but there's no play back and forth with the rods, just the rocking.

Don't have a lot of lower end experience and haven't specifically heard this clunk before, although I'm guessing it's probably going to need a crank.... :yank:
