gclark63 Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 When I bought my bike I was told that it had been resleaved and was .100 over standard or 66.5mm. I want to know for sure what size rings I need. My piston measured just over 66mm. When I cleaned up my pistons I could read the marking on top. The very top is marked 6392C In the middle is 513M06650 This is a wiseco piston, anyone have any info for me. As for as what size rings to get? Would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 thats a weisco 513 series piston and its 66.5 mm, you need to get rings for a 66.5 call pretty much any builder and tell them that and they will get you what you need. Remember to take a look at the cyliders and make sure they are fresh. If not you need to have them honed or bored depending on the shape of them. So assuming your good to go you just need to order rings for the piston you have Quote
gclark63 Posted August 22, 2008 Author Report Posted August 22, 2008 Hey thanks Bansh-eman! Ok here is another little problem. On the bottom of one of my intake ports there is a 1/8 X 1/4 piece of the sleave that is missing. The guy at the machine shop told me it would not hurt any thing because of the location. I feel that it had been this away for a while because my pistons were in great shape with no marring anywhere on them. I was going to resleave it, he told me it would be $210.00 plus the cost of the sleave. Is that outrageously high or what. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 i dont really recall the cost of resleeving because i have never done it. You might call a few builders and ask them how much to gague the price Quote
