TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Paid Butch (00tbanshee) a little visit today... I originallt thought the problem was fixed with that air leak, and I think there was a tad more to it... Yes, that air leak I think was a big part of the problem tuning, jetting, etc. But I took it down today into Maryland to Butch's house, and we really got into some tinkering. The local mechanics around here are an absolute joke... pickup gap was 4x higher than what it should have been. He told me it was ok, this and that, let's move onto bigger things, etc. UNBELIEVABLE. To think this guy builds motors and tells people this, You guys know the situation I was in... I take it to someone to check it out, and they tell me the pickup gap is normal. I learned alot today, alot of things i didn't know. Butch saw it right away. Put it back to normal, gapped the plugs a little tigher, and she plain out screams. I am just speechless... had it out since 4 pm, and it just got dark 20 minutes ago. I smiled for the first time in a long time today... Butch is a top notch guy. Taking the woman to see him race next weekend. Both of us are excited as all heck. HJR all the way!!! Kevin can flat out do some serious work. Beat a few local ported banshees today by A LONG SHOT. And I made a good friend today as well. Thanks Butch! Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 I am running 105 and it shows no signs of detonation. I will be running pure 110 this week just to be safe. But I couldn't be more pleased. Butch is very smart... not to mention has the sickest banshees I have ever seen. Really cool bike, and the man is just straight forward. Great guy. Felt like he was my friend from the first handshake. The drive isn't that bad... I am going to watch a race or two, and he in return will come up here sooner or later to climb some coal hills or just hang out and watch. He got a kick out of the coal dirt on my bike since I didn't get a chance to wash it as I was working on it all week (s)... he thinks it's nasty lol which in all reality, it is.... Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Thats good man. hell yea. about fucking time lol. Quote
shee4speed Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Great to here. Yeah, HJR all the way! Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 (edited) 2 weeks yesterday... I just can't believe the local bike mechanics. I really can't. The one did a few banshees over the past year. I wonder if it has something to do with me having Kevin porting/honing and not him? Who knows But the important thing is there are great people out there. I am more pumped about meeting Butch than having the thing running good. He hunts, rides, catches a few fish, etc. He is just a clone of me who knows alot about these bikes. There are still GREAT people out there!!! And Jack, I can't forget about you my main man.... my WWI helmet wearing drinking brother. I know you wanted to take a swing at this as well. You wanted no profit, just wanted to help a guy out. I appreciate it. The only reason Butch took that swing was because he runs these motors and they run the same one down that way. I can't thank you enough for wanting to help to get me back on the black hills. Matt, you too. You tried, but I know how busy you are. Kids, work, your own shit, etc. Thanks man. And everyone who talked me out of the parting the bike out... I can name about 15 guys on here. Thank you guys. I am going to have a little conversation with the local "bike builder". Very disappointing. I could have just looked in the Clymer on the pickup gap but took his word. Very disappointing. Butch knows his bikes. Spun the stator, and saw the VERY OFF pickup gap instantly. And he has his won little secret of measuring it too... very cool. This is alot my fault for not taking responsibility on checking this. But this guy does a few banshees a year that rip. I hate to say it, but I did before... I think it might have something to do with another builder doing my bike and me coming to him, with him knowing I ride with his builds... I just tried jetting it, etc... and went nowehre. So I went to have a guy that I knew take a look at it, etc. And some bad info was relayed back to me. I didn't even double check it as I would think since he builds nice bikes, he should know. But the main thing is we got it going... I made a great friend today and will be visiting again soon. Kevin can make a motor go, hands down. It has 3x what it had with a 2 into 1 and every bolt on imaginable. No joke. It is going to be a tough stock stroke bike to beat... Thanks Kevin for being so patient. Most guys would take the money, and be done with it. You stuck with me, and you are a stand up class act person, and a businessman as well. Maybe if Butch didn't mind the coal dirt he would visit us!!! Thanks Butch, and Thanks Kevin! And all you HQ'ers who kept me chugging along... thanks guys. Every last one of yous. Except you fags who wanted my plastics and pipes. You guys can go pound sand because they are staying here hehe Edited August 3, 2008 by TeamRealtreeHD Quote
blowit Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 I sense a group hug coming...... EZ there. Could your gap measurement have anything to do with a certain coin??? Brandon Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008  Hey man, I am just giving credit where credit is due... I won't sit back and let such a day like this blow by without giving the man who gave his Saturday and sweated all over with me not take credit for this. Butch made this happen and desrves more than a hug... I do not know what you mean by the gap and coin question... We took my spark plug gap from .030 down to .020... and took the pickup gap down to a hair comapred to the gap it was at. I belive it was at 93 thousanths. Like I said, I doubt in a situation like I should be acting like a tuff ass bansee owner SOB... I am thankd=ful that I had help today. Many guys here will experience it some day as well, maybe not with a banshee, or something mechanical, but you will be very thankful when you feel like you have no other direction to turn... Butch, and Kevin, were both there to lend a helping hand. And were happy to do it. That's a case of beer right there, not just 1... Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 thanks guys. Every last one of yous. Except you fags who wanted my plastics and pipes. You guys can go pound sand because they are staying here hehe Now thats funny. Quote

THE GRIM RIPPER Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Wow... Im gonna shed one if I read any more!! Thats a good story... Butch, I dont even know who the hell you are but your the man!! lol, I think alot of "Banshee guys are like that tho, something about the bike?,.... Or the type of people that own them (for the most part it seems)?,... Or maybe somethin else but banshees owners are certainly a different breed. Quote
00tbanshee Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 yeah i should probly not say this but i have always had good luck with all the motors that i have had.but have had friends that has all kinds of problems.if i can give a hand to help a fellow banshee owner out i am all for it.these things a simple machines but sometimes will drive you crazy.when they are running like they suppose too, they are hard to beat.
