TRO73 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 I was running 158 mains and 50 pilots and got a slight bog going from 1st to 2nd...switched to 155 main and 48 pilots and took it for another ride and the first 2 passes ran great then on the 3rd pass about 3rd gear 1/2 throttle started to bog again and ran like shit ever since. Could being off of the main or pilot jets by one size make that big of a difference? Also my plugs still looked a little dark and the left side still seems stronger than the right. I have a 152 main and a 45 pilot coming from Jeff so I will try that when it arrives. Any more input would be great...was afraid to keep riding it like that...just rebuilt it. Tony Quote
xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 The main jets are for 3/4 to wide open throttle. you need to do a plug chop for that. if it bogs at half throttle i would try raising your needles one clip and see what happens. only do one thing at a time. if you do more you wont know what you did to make it better or worse. where are you from and what are your mods? hope thats not oem carbs your jetting with a 152M and 45P. if so i would have to say your lean hahaha. ok Keihin carbs and what else you got? xXBlessedWithDeathXx Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I just noticed your info in your sig. if it boggs at half throttle i would raise the needles 1 clip. if its good keep it and just do a plug chop if its better but not good go up one more. if its worse go down with the needle. got it? TRO73 Posted July 21, 2008 Author Report Posted July 21, 2008 I also noticed when I removed the right side spark plug the tip was pretty loose...would this cause a problem? Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I also noticed when I removed the right side spark plug the tip was pretty loose...would this cause a problem? Detonation... Do not buy a spark plug lock to solve this problem. EDIT: Just read that a little closer, the tip just needs to be tightened down before the plug is installed. They tend to back off if not tightened before the plug is installed. Detonation will cause the plug to back, sorry, it is getting late... Quote
