Boominrick Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 my shee is a gas guzzler! One 10 min trip down the road and a quarter tank is gone! LOL is this normal? Quote
shanYE west Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Yeah.. 2-3 passes on the drag track and its drinks 1/2 tank... lol gotta love alky. Quote
jamebo Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Yeah that was one of the first things I noticed when I got mine. It has the worst gas milage of any atv I've ever had....... however, definitely worth the extra cost of gas, though! Quote
peterlocal22 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 my shee is a gas guzzler! One 10 min trip down the road and a quarter tank is gone! LOL is this normal? 10 minute trip should not be drinking a 1/4 tank. check your bike for a leak. Quote
snowmanzz13 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 i agree peterlocal22, shees are gas guzzlers but not that fast. I'm still on stock carbs and it drinks, i'm scarred to see what its like when i go to some big boy carbs Quote
sinisterboo Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 My shee's leak more than they burn i think. damn vents spew when i turn hard. Quote
Bansheeb0y5505 Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Banshee's are hogs.. When we go riding, my dads banshee alone sucks up about 7 gallons by the end of the day. Just bolt on mods with proper jetting too. it's crazy. But, like the saying goes, suckin gas and haulin ass Quote
shanYE west Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 My shee's leak more than they burn i think. damn vents spew when i turn hard. Might want to check your float heights.. Quote
pabansheematt Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 my shee is a gas guzzler! One 10 min trip down the road and a quarter tank is gone! LOL is this normal? You definately have a problem. I can get 5 to 6 hours of non stop riding on a tank of fuel and I got a 492. I'd start by checking float height. Quote
huskyohilux Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 When I had the keihin 35 mms and filled up the tank I rode a coulpe of laps around the block and the tank atleast looked half empty , but totally I got maybe an hour on a full tank. After switching back to OEM cabs I get maybe twice that... would say between 2 h and 3 h is normal depending on riding style Check your plugs for correct jetting and that the reeds close fully, if you don Quote
Face Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 I am always the first one in the group to hit reserve. My buddy rides an 06 and he can go a lot longer than I can. I have a 6 pack rack and sometimes I think I need to use it to carry an extra gallon of gas! Quote
Hilarious Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 2 strokes are notorious for consuming more fuel than 4 strokes. there are twice as many power strokes thus more power. so its going to use a bit of fuel. IMO if you are concerned with fuel consumption, you need to look at something other than a banshee. Quote
LS1Inferno Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 i can get a couple of hours of mild to hard riding on a tank. with 34PJ's and pods. ported too. when riding hard all the time. i use about 3/4 a tank to my friends YFZ used only about 1/4 i dont thank thats too bad. Quote
jamebo Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 I MIGHT get a couple on mine, but a tank sure goes by fast. My fuel injected Raptor goes around three to three and a half hours before the fuel light comes on. Now that's estimates on each one, I don't have meters on them and never really timed them out..... but a tank seems to go a whole lot further on the 700. Quote
