87bansheeguy Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Not trying to be a smart ass but it your chain loose are both your rollers still there and hows the teeth on your sprockets? Quote
runamuck Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Does the trans make noise in any other gears? Also does the bike feel like it does`t wont to move in secont gear? if the chain is slipping it would do it in more then one gear. when you had the trans apart did you check the main shaft splines? badassbanshee479 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 how does the motor mounts look?? do you have the bottom mounts on?? also did you look at the clutch when you had it apart? my drag bike was doing this when the bushings in the lower motor mounts where wore out! Quote
mopowerman Posted June 17, 2008 Author Report Posted June 17, 2008 It only makes the noise in 2nd gear. I checked the chain slide and rollers there all good. As for the trans gear shaft splines they felt good and the clutch was good. It doesn't have the lower motor mount bars but if you think it would help i can get some. Any more help would be great Quote
400rednEX Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 mine is doing this too, only in second it seems. worn engine mounts will do it? that would be better than the tranny being bad i guess. my sprockets are good and i tightened up the chain to the point of being too tight and it still did it. J-Madd Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 It isn't the shift forks..it would pop out of gear, or not go into a specific gear if they were bent. I'm not familiar with this problem. Quote
fastrex Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Sorry for the old bump, but i have the same issue. At full power in second only it feels like it jumps out of gear and right back. Any other ideas on what this could be? My chain and mounts lok fine Quote
AKheathen Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 check your axle-to sprocket splines, and chain adjustment Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Consider pulling clutch cover and checking claw to star adjustment and that star is held good to shaft. Also look that nothing is worn badly. Quote
