TRO73 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I just installed a Dyna FS Ignition on my banshee what is your guys input on those? Tony Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 they are good cdi's, they really shine if you have access to a dyno to reprogram it Quote
TRO73 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 It has 4 programmable timing curves have not even really rode it yet since intalling it and the place that I bought it said you can mount the switch on the handelbars but the switch cord is only about 7 inches long...So how do you get it to the handelbars? Bansh-eman Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 its not long enough to put it on your bars. i have mine mounted under my seat at the rear. Quote
Flash and Flare Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 My buddy has one that he tried to install, he told me the other day that his won't work correctly cause (this sounds silly) the TORS were removed. Does that make any sence ???? F&F Quote

Does that make any sence ???? F&F no he is full of crap. He just isnt doing something right. I have my TORS long gone and mine plugged right up. There are extra wires that are not used and he is probly assuming you need to hook them up. Quote

Snopczynski Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Usually curve 3 works the best depending on which pipes you run. If you dont have a timing plate, you can reprogram it and advance your ignition timing. I reprogram them for guys all the time now. Dyna also makes a coil kit for the Banshee. Quote
SnowBigDeal Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Not trying to hijack the thread, but question regarding the Dyna FS. I originally bought a timing plate but have since put it back to 0 (Stock) and now have the Dyna FS that has not reprogrammed. My current setup is as follows: 421cc trinity with Pro MX port/polish, 17cc domes, V-Force, 35mm Keihin PWK, CPI inframes. Here is my question: In your opinion am I better getting rid of the Dyna FS and going back to a 4 degree advance timing using my timing plate or will I be better off using the Dyna FS? From the DYNA FS timing curves graph I have, it appears that the most advance the Dyna FS gets over stock is about 3.5 degrees, which is on Curve 3. Any thoughts are appreciated. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I run my plate at +4 and the Dyna on curve 3. Curve 3 has at it's peak advances like 9 - 13 degrees if i recall correctly. Quote
Snopczynski Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 I would run the dyna regardless, it does work and the advance on curve 3 livens the bike up alot. You can run the plate at +4 or send the cdi to someone and have them advance the curve and run the plate at 0 degrees. Nice thing is with a dyna you can run curve 3 at +4 advance, then make a drag racing curve and customize it to advance down low and retard up top at high rpm. Quote
