shee 06 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Hi all this is my first post on Banshee HQ and i'm a little stuck . One day i was riding and every thing was perfect with the shee and the next time not as great it's popping alot and it's bogging down low but up top shee's fine. i cant do second gear launches any more without bogging. I have trinity stage IV pipes tors removal K&N with no air box 290 mains 25 pilots and clip in the middle of the needle also air screw is half a turn out. I am at sea level and temps are now between 15-20 degrees c or 60 and 80 f My thoughts are maybe it's getting too much air now because it is starting to get cooler and when it was warmer i didn't have this problem. I did however try 300 mains and the plugs were wet as on idle so i changed back to 290's i also had 27.5 pilots in but went back to 25's because there was too much smoke on start up and this has helped. I understand i need to do a plug chop and i will next weekend and i'll post some pics. But if anyone has any idea why it is now popping and bogging i would love to hear it. Should i buy another air box for it? i hope i have given enough imformation about my problem to get as much helpful feed back as possible. thanks in advance. Quote
peak-j Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Did you pull the carbs off and clean them? If not you might want to. Also, check to make sure the air filter isn't dirty, you might need to clean it. Quote
dragbanshee Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 sounds like you may have a pilot clogged. Quote
shee 06 Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 I've had the carbs off a few times recently trying to resolve my problem and i had the same problem before i went to smaller pilots however going down on pilots helped with the amount of smoke on start up and they are always cleaned each time i pull the carbs off they are always spotless as is the filter.Thank you for your suggestions everyone and please keep them coming. Guest banshee 9531 Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 you might want to check your coil. I just read on the DRI web site that a bad coil can cause it to miss and pop. just a thought, check that its grounded properly, check the ohms against a different one that you know is good. might save some head ache in tearing the carb apart repetedly. shee 06 Posted May 25, 2008 Author Report Posted May 25, 2008 OK sorry about the delays with my feed back but i have had good results and good news. My problem is solved thanks to Banshee 9531. It was my coil and i dont know how i long i would have stuffed around with my jetting thinking that jetting was my problem. I also went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket and shee hauls ass i didn't think it would make that much of a difference however i'm glad i did it as it suits my style of riding to a tee. thanks again to the others who had an imput. Guest banshee 9531 Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 hey, I'm glad I could help. I know how shitty it is to have to keep tearing your carbs apart and still not get it fixed. Quote
