peterlocal22 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 hi guys, my front sproket nut fell off while riding last weekend so i have to buy another one. anyways i was wondering if i should just tighten the nut to the torque specs or should i use some type of thread lock on it? thanks in advance peter Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 There is a washer, with a lock tab, that goes behind the nut. Get a new one, torque the nut to spec, and bend the tab up against the nut. Should hold it. Quote
gumby6t9 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 did you have the lock washer on there? I believe it is called a french lock, bend the tab against a flat on the nut once it is tightened... Quote
gumby6t9 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 good answer fastbanshee! same time and all... Quote
dajogejr Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Yamaha part number 90215-21121-00 Less than 4 bucks.... Quote
Dave I. Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 i never bend the tab, because i switch sprockets so much, i usually just throw some blue locktite on it and hit it with the impact. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 And i bet FAST has those in stock... I've ordered little OEM parts from him at good prices.. Quote
