jr1975 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 just found this site and like it already. hoping to get advise on my 87. iget no spark on either plug. new cdi box and plug coil. have ohmed out complete harness; no breaks. tested stator and pickup coil. ok according to clymer manual specs. stock flywheel seems ok. i have pulse from green wire from stator. should i have pulse from red wire when kicking it over? tors unit is removed. cant afford to just through parts at it. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again in advance for any help. bansheejoel Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 is your tors black box disconnected? are you getting power to and from your stop switch and ignition? are your plugs caps on good? Quote

Animalman294 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Ya might check your battery terminals...............Naaaaaa j/k You might check your wiring harness, but also the wire coming from the kill switch and the key switch. They might have rubbed on something and are now going to ground and wont let it start.............. Quote

They might have rubbed on something and are now going to ground and wont let it start.............. i have ohmed out my whole harness wire by wire. nothing excessive or a lot higher than others. is it possible for stator test to have good resistance test and still be bad? thanks again for all advice. I had this same problem, and the answwer is yes i had weak spark so at last resort i changed my stator again and it runs great... Quote
