im picking up my shift shaft elliptical bolt and i was wondering how you guys adjust it to get it to get the perfect spacing in between the two "paws" that go on the shift star. I was thinking maybe a feeler guage but those are to small....any ideas would be great...thanks

you have to eyeball it. Its not hard to do. just get it inbetween the best you can

and hold the screw with your screwdriver and tighten the nut down and bend the

lock tab back. Dont sweat it.

:beer:

Edit: All this talk lately has made me realize that I put my clutch cover on my

beater without tightening the nut on the eccentric screw and bend the locktab back over it. LOL

beater=play banshee. :teehee:

Just eyeball it. dont sweat it, you wont be half assing it.

An example of half assing would be doing a total rebuild with nice

ported cylinders and going back with an unwelded stock crankshaft.

Speaking of, does anyone have any pics of how the shift shaft and stuff is put together? I just pulled mine all apart because there was a ton of play in my shifter to find the adjustment screw was broken off in the case and the lock washer was floating around in the clutch cover and went threw some gears. i also found the kicker idler gear had no clip holdingit on and the washer was also floating around the clutch cover! what a mess
