im redoing my top end and i plan on having the cylinders honed. i scuffed a piston is teh reason for the rebuild. from looking at the displacement chart i believe my piston size is 75 x stock stroke for a cc of 477.1 am i right on that?

my question is what the fuck am i building? can someone tell me what i have to tell the shop to do to my cylinders as far as a hone goes? what size pistons will i need to use on the rebuild?

just to clarify, the ones that came out have 75 stamped into them.

it probably more a 0.75 mm oversized than a 75mm piston. go at the shop with your cyl and get them to mic it. you will then know for sure what you got. oversize are in increments of 0.25mm so you will probly need a 65 mm piston.

second the word, thats why i asked haha. im gonna need a set of .75 over pistons? (65mm) they make the 795 series like that?

its always a good idea to have the pistons with the jugs when getting it bored or honed. that way they can set the actual tolerances and not guess them. every 64mm piston is not going ot be the same

Exactly as said above. Most shops will tell you they need the pistons.

I have the shop measure the bore & tell me what pistons i need.

I'll order them and take them back to the shop and let the bore begin!
