hollisatp Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I have one head bolt that seems to be stripped. It will go in like it has threads but then spins when it hits the bottom.. what is my best option?? jb weld it in for good?? Quote
fun_on_the_sand Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Rule #1, NEVER EVER jd weld any fastener (bold, nut, screw or stud) When you say bolt, do you mean the nut, or the stud that goes into the cylinder? Whatever the case is, is better to replace both, the stud and the nut. do you have a stock head? Quote

fun_on_the_sand Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 can I get a helicoil insert that is the same size?? Yes, if you have never installed a helicoil before I would recomend to take your cylinder to a local shop and have them do it for you. If it was a threaded hole on the frame for the plastics I would recomend to do it your self, but a hole on the top of your cylinder is more critical than that. Quote
