fastLANE Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I am interested in doing the single carb conversion on my banshee but I dont know to much about it. I want it for the ease of tuning the carb and for better flow. What kits are out there? How much do they run? What kind of setup should I be looking for? The bike is an 04, stock stroke,20 over weisco's with basic bolt ons such as t-5's, vforce 3's ,k@n intake , timing at +4 and jetted at 25 pilot and 280 main at sea level with 145 compression. I am always having problems setting the carbs right (stock carbs, tors deleted). Also I am interested in running a shaved head to bump up the compression a little bit more but I still wanna run 93 octane. What do you guys suggest. The bike is mainly used for trail riding and I dont see myself doing any other real mods in the future. Maybe a mild port job but that is doutfull at this time -thanks Quote
jesse1004 Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 id say go with a 33, possibly a 35. either one should work with porting as long as it wasnt a drag port but even then it still may. snopczyski is the single carb guy, he'll point u in the right direction. Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Trinity and Cascade make the kits. I would run a pwk 35mm if you ever plan to do motor work. Also, ditch the vf3's and run carbon tech mid reeds with stock cages and rev plates. Compression will create more power across the board. Quote

What are rev plates. I have my top end off right now and am thinking about doing some small upgrades. I think I have the stock cages, the reeds are blue where they fasten to the cage and that is all there is. What and where do the rev plates go. Sorry did not mean to get into my own post here. Quote
ohiobanshee Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 My FMF Ram valves have a blue piece that holds the reeds where they bolt to the cages. Quote
shudakeptquiet Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Just remember if you do go this route, you won't be able to run your airbox anymore, and look how dirty your bike is in my sig... I think you'd be cruisin' for a brusin' Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 thay make single carb adfapters to hook the airbox back up. Quote
