dragbanshee Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 I was just curious of how much horse power I have with just the bolt ons, here they are; T 5s, oko 30mm carbs, open air box with K&N, Vforce reeds&cages, +4 timing, stock bore sa far as I know, 1997 purchased in 07 no mods when purchased, checked compression 125 both cylinders, runs strong. next mods will be porting, trying to keep the sleeper look, Thanks for any info, anything close! Wow, figured it atleast would be in the 40s, what is stock horse power anyway? Quote
TexasBansheeMan Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 42-46 Hp stock. some a little more some a little less Quote
bansheefreak Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 id say around 42 hp give or take few .. Quote
BansheeRider71 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 As far as how much hp you have its way over 30 I can tell you that because a stock Banshee dynos at 36HP, an with your mods im guessin your prolly at around 46 to about 48 hp give or take. I have seen well running shees with basic bolt-on mods have 50HP . Quote
TexasBansheeMan Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 A Little Porting goes a LONG way!!!. Quote
dajogejr Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 42 to 46 HP maybe at the crank stock, definately not at the rear tires. Probably 35ish at the rear tires stock. With your bolt ons, 42 would be my guess too... Remove the airbox and shave the stock head .020 and it'll be 45ish. Porting is where your power will be at, NIGHT AND DAY difference... Quote

dajogejr Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Lovin your before and after, very nice. I don't know what the hell Yamaha was thinking releasing bikes with GOLD rims...sheesh. If you plan on porting it....just wait. Have whomever ports it shave the head, or if you want some extra bling, a NOSS Cool Head is a good way to lower the compression too.... Quote
kawiking Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 my buddies shee dynoed 55 at the dyno at little sahare . oklahoma.. no port work. fmfs, shaved head, k@n pods, shaved reed cages, shaved flywheel. i thought it was high for a bolt on bike. my bike same as his but with cpi out of frames ,34 pjs, drag port (local guy).... pull 53 (way rich.... ) put on my buddies fmfs and pulled 58. i was pissed off !!! but just remember all dyno's are diffrent !! ive learned to say fuck hp numbers.. if its not set up right , or your not putting the power to the ground then it doesnt matter if you have 100 hp !! if u cant ride your shee , u may get beat by a stocker. im sure i proubably didnt help u , sorry... BansheeKid15 Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 You can pretty much (with the exception of a fiew things) price it out from looking at the builders websites. Here are 2 builders sites that are pretty damn good. www.farmandsandtoys.com www.herrjugsracing.com I got my jugs ported by Kevin Herr. Although Jeff over at fast does a really good job as well. On their sites they have what a total rebuild would cost, different types of porting ( ie. drag, dune/hillshooter, trail...) and the prices. So you can get a rough idea of what its going to cost just by doing some research on their sites. Quote
kawiking Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 call jeff at F.A.S.T. or pm him on here (FASTOYS).... jeff is a great guy !! i order most my parts from him now adays and am in the process of buying a 4 mill cub from him . jeff will ask u what type of riding u are doing and what other mods u have or plan on getting and go from there. F.A.S.T.---- 785-364-5325. i think he opens around 10 in the morn. ive also heard alot of good things about herrjugsracing and also passions. Quote
