tgbanshee Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Cascade has two fuel filters, a large one and a small one. I know this is nit picking, but I don't know which one to get even though it probably doesn't matter. The reason I want one is because after my motor blew, I cleaned my carbs and found the right side main to be clogged to hell. Any of you guys run a fuel filter? Quote
bansheejoel Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 i do, i think its the best thing you can buy for $2.50 dont have to worrie about shit in your tank getting in your carbs Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 pointless IMO all you need to do is make sure your gas can is always clean and make sure your tank is always clean and thats free besides you could pick p a filter at a hardware store for a buck if you reall want one dirt gets in easier at other places (air filter, any clamps for the carbs etc) Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 (edited) i use a filter, very wise for the money, just think about it, how did that piece of dirt get down in your bowl and stop up your main jet?? theres only 1 way, it came into the carb with the fuel, if you have a loose air filter the dirt basically goes into the motor, not down inside of the carb, i little piece of dirt can cause a hell of a meltdown.. 2.50 is a good insurance premium i think. Bansh-eman Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 i dont run them and dont plan on it, ut they are not bad to have, like said that dirt or sand gets into your bowl from one spot. Quote

Good question I used to have that happen when I used a filter :ermm: I don't run one anymore... Also, the fuel tank has a screen filter in it already, but not as good as those plastic ones. I tried one of those huge ass paper ones too, but it would not flow enough and leaned out my bike. Edited January 31, 2008 by Justintoxicated Quote

That is more or less what I'm concerned about. I really want to run a filter, but want to be sure it is going to flow enough fuel. The small filter that Cascade-Innovations sells has some sort of gold porous metal looking filter in it, and the larger version looks like it has a very fine conical screen inside. Small Filter: Large Filter: They are both cheap, just don't know which one to buy. Quote
akita8 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 I have used the top one for years and never had a problem. Quote
hyperlite33 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 The one I have is the top pic and I run it on my YZ426 4choke also. RMATV sells them for $1.49. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 i have the large one on my cub, works great. Quote
drdan Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 I run the bottom big one, it's what The Banshee Shack in AZ recommends, I used to not run one but after clogging a pilot with some dirt, I figure it's cheap insurance to not harm the motor or the 20 kickstart shuffle, plus The Banshee Shack told me that every time they drain a tank, they always find dirt and sand in the bottom of most tanks.
