riderofthestorm Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 I had the same problen getting mine to start, after about a day of kicking and tearing apart the carbs a few times, i went to the clymer bible,, hold it wide open till it starts, worked for me, good luck man! Quote
LiftdT4R Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 Definately getting gas into the cylinders. I looked at it about 15 minutes ago, and I noticed that the idle screws don't seem to move the slides up and down. So, anyway, gonna make an ass outta myself, but I took off my twist throttle and put on a thumb throttle through all of this. I'm guessing that the Motion Pro Twist and the stock thumb don't use the same cable........? It looks like the slides sit too high in the bore, and sice the bike revs to the moon with the start spray, and the idle screws do nothing, I'm thinking maybe thats what happened. It's nasty out here today, but I might go out later tonight, or tomorrow and change out the cable. I was thinking its somsehting really really dumb because Ive done carbs about 20 or so times now, and have had 0 problems. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 yep. thumb uses a totally different cable than the twist. You might be on to something there. Quote
2strokespirit Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 .... happened to all of us. Quote
dajogejr Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 That being said...that will fix his idle problem. But you should be able to hold the throttle 1/4 open and have it start and rev... If it doesn't...you have other problems. If it revs fine...then fix the cable (proper one), if not...you have problems elsewhere.. Quote
cudon Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 i'm having same problem with my 05 shee took carbs apart 3 times,no debris in jets. getting gas and spark. kick all day.....nothing. if i figure it out i'll let you know. it all started when i added boost bottle. :ermm: Quote
sleeper06 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 If you have one try putting a bigger pilot maybe a30 ,I had a similar problem last year after porting my shee.
