Banshee Chad Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 ive read and read about tors on here, plenty of info on how to remove them. But i am unable to find any info on what they actually do. From what i understand they suck! but why? My new 2006, only has about 5 rides on it now all from me, boggs out after i have been into the throttle for a bit. Couple people have suggested checking float levels and jetting. but it is brand new and been doing this since i got it, i was thinking maybe it could be due to the tors? from what i understand they are supposed to help out incase of a stuck throttle. could the tors be thinking that after i have been into the throttle for a bit that it is stuck and that is why it is acting as if it is running outta gas? is the tors acting as a rev limiter or something and only allowing it to be reving high for a little while? Thanks for the help, Chad. Quote
shee4speed Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 Tors could cause you many troubles but i dont think that is your problem here.Sounds carb related. TORS shuts the bike down if the throttle slides stick opes and you let off the throttle. Or it wont rev with the parking break on. Go ahead and clean those carbs and adjust your floats and all should be good. Quote
Banshee Chad Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 aight, i was afraid that was gonna be the final answer. guess its a good thing my clymers came in the mail yesterday. just thought id double check before i start tearing into it. Gonna go down to ls utah sunday, so ill get to it after that. Thanks again for the help. Quote
Hilarious Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 For starters, you might want to unplug the wire going to your parking brake. It acts as a governer on the ignition system and will not let the engine rev with the parking brake on. It's a known issue on the banshees and warriors. just pull the wire out and go from there. Quote
Banshee Chad Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 would that affect it even if the parking brake is not on? Quote
