black sunshine Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 You mean blued? Try Blue Magic metal polish. It is not "magic", but with alot of elbow grease it will take the blueing to a much less noticable color, till they get real hot again! Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Clean them really good, then spray a light coat of WD-40 or similar oil and scrub them with extra fine (000) steel wool...works very well. Do small areas at a time, use a small amount of pressure, and keep the areas lubricated. Use tapping oil and fine (00) steel wool to remove stubborn spots, such as rust, riding pant residue, etc. Work the areas that turned blue with the extra fine steel wool and it will look pretty good, too. Steel Wool Grade Chart  Quote
dajogejr Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Finish up with some NeverDull. I cleaned up some pretty pitted up inframe pipes...has them looking good with some real fine steel wool and Liquid Wrench, then never dull. Took quite a few hours...a beer or two ..LOL, but they turned out nice... Quote
WALLACE84 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 If you do mean "blued" and you clean them up its only going to be a matter of time when blue again Quote
