dekker Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Alright guys the end of the Dune season is here in Michigan and after next weekends final silver lake trip ill be starting the winter work. Other than some cosmetic stuff I want to get opinions on some things. I got the bike ported by R&B (aggressive dune port) this past winter and couldnt be happier... that being said all I have been riding is dunes and doin some dragging so I'm thinkin of ditching the fatties and goin for some CPI's or Shearer's and some bigger carbs maybe 33mm. Do you guys think its worth the extra money for what im gonna get out of it in terms of power? Im also gonna get a longer swinger thinking +4 or +2 becasue I cant keep it down as it is now. Your opinions are appreciated. Zach  Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Pipes and larger carbs will help considerably IMO. 33s would be perfect, and if you really want some top end power go with shearers or CPIs, Shearers are very nice pipes but i just wish they put a little bit more detail to their chrome. You wont be disspointed with the outcome. Eric Quote
gipperz Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I'd go with CPI inframe's and some 35pwk's. Later on when you want to go bigger or even a cub you have the pipes and carbs. Thats kinda what I did but I have a 4mil by f.a.s.t. I'll be going to a cub in the future. Good luck Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 If you want to dune, and drag, then the CPI's are better suited than the Shearer's. The Shearer's are a top end pipe, and unless you like clutching it a lot, to keep it in the power band, then get the CPI's. Quote
dekker Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Thanks guys, Will there be a noticeable difference with the bigger carbs and the pipe change? Also how long do you think I should go on the swinger? Quote

dekker Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Really +6? That wont be too much swinger? Quote

I think the design of the PWK Air Strykers work better in the 35mm format than the 33mm format. :geek: Quote
FireHead Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Really +6? That wont be too much swinger? +6" on the arm will basically mean that you have to forget about jumping your bike. Quote
blowit Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I agree, you kinda lose the fun factor. Hell the +4 is marginal. With good suspension setup, +4 is a gods plenty for a 350 motor. Thing you need to remember is you sacrifice traction with the long swing. This is why we would comp a +8 swing or more with more aggressive paddles. Also, by installing aftermarket A-arms with the +1 forward on a banshee helps calm them down as well. Two birds with one stone if you ask me. We build a lot of "ridable" bikes here I guess. Handyman Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 +6" on the arm will basically mean that you have to forget about jumping your bike. I can vouche for that statement...and I only have a +4 and it still kicked me over the bars and tbroke my collar bone and 3 ribs Quote
dekker Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Thanks for all the info guys, Im thinkin I will go with the 35's because eventually I will nut up and drop the money for a cub. Still debating on the swinger but definately wont go over +4, And it sounds like I really cant go wrong with the pipes either way but ill probably go with CPI because they have at least some mid. Again Thanks alot Zach Quote

jbooker82 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Shearers are very nice pipes but i just wish they put a little bit more detail to their chrome. Buy your Shearers from Cascade Innovations. They get there pipes bare and have there chromer do the chrome. I am wating for a set of CPI's from them. You will pay a little more but there stuff is top notch. Quote
