WOTFREAK Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Does anyone in here run on E-85? I am thinking about trying an E-85 setup. It's is cheaper than premium and is rated at 105 engine octane so why not right? Any feedback, tips, tunes, or etc. would be helpful. :biggrin: Quote

Don't forget, Ethanol is corrosive, not as much as methanol, but more so that you can't just let it sit in your tank and carbs... There's a good topic on this already, don't just buy it and dump it in, you will require jetting changes, etc... Even though it's cheaper, you will go through more of it than gas...so, weigh that too. Quote

Most oils dont. Klotz Benol, Klotz Supertechniplate, Klotz R50, Maxim Caster 927 will. Quote

I run Benoil with my meth, and I was using R50 in my purge. It gummed my carbs up something fierce because it's not methanol compatible.... Shake the can before you run... I'm sure if you let it sit it'll separate in cold. I'm positive once you're bouncing around the ice and give it a quick shake...it'll stay mixed... Quote

Since you can mix supertechniplate with alachol I figured you would be good to go on R50. My bad. Quote

theshee Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 E-85 is good fuel and makes lots of power. Never messed with it in a banshee, but majicmike has a raptor on it and it rips hard. We had to richen the hell out of the MAP to get it to run (i think we added 40% more fuel to the map) so you will have to re-jet. Here is the E-85 topic Dave was talking about finding in a search.
