how long to go?

this winter im planing on getting a dune port and stroker crank and was wondering how long of a swingarm to get i dont want to look at the sky up at the dunes. also what size paddles would would be good

go with a plus 4 maybe 6 with 8 paddle haulers.. i think rippen in colo runs a plus6 and 8 paddle no problem in trees and stuff..

i wood go with a +9 with 13 paddle haulers and a pink and green power band :thumbsup:

I had the same setup a couple of years back and ran a +4 with 21x11x8 10 paddle extremes. With 14-41 gearing, it seemed just about right.

How much dragging vs. how much duning?

 

For mostly duning, I'd go with a +2 or maybe a +4. Most people say that a +4 is as big as you wanna get for a duner.

 

For paddles, how damp is the sand there? If it's usually high on moisture, go with a 8 paddle, for dryer conditions, 9 might be better.

 

Odaen - there's no reason to run 10 paddle extremes on any shee that isn't set up for full drag (Cub, alky, +8 (or more) swinger, etc.)

everyone's got their own preference. they actually came on another bike I had bought, so I ran them a few times and really liked them. seemed like I was 50/50 at the hill or out duning, and that setup was just about perfect for what I did.

That's a really good setup for a dune port +4mm stroker. I had the same setup except 9 paddles. Now with the 421 cub the 9 paddles spin too much when launching in a drag race but are still fun for a dune play setup.
