Alright need a ballpark number for jetting. 2006 stock bore no port FMF fatty and silencer, toomey 2 to 1 uni filter, +4 timing 32:1 yamalube and 93 octane. high humidity, 85 to 95 degrees most of the time, sea level, Currently have 260 main 27.5 pilot standard needle in 3rd slot, TORS removed. I have access to mains all the way to 340 and 30 pilots courtesy of a friend. What is a good starting point? Thanks.

When I had fatty's on my shee I remember them liking a tad bigger pilot, think it was a 27.5 or so. 280 sounds about right as well during the hotter months, then winter I bumper up on the mains.

Here is the latest, got up to a 300 main and the chop reveals a brown ring about 1mm thick, it has a sputtering from right about 1/8 to 1/4 throttle or right before it gets on the needles. Tried a 330 jet and I had the 2mm ring but lighter than at 300. What would be next to remove that sputter, or is it how they run due to the advance?

2 into 1 air filter, as in no air box.

Put the 340 in, middle clip, 27.5 pilots 1.5 turns out.

Lean the main from there...

That's what I had one jetted at with similar mods, elevation, temp, etc..

Alright ran it again today and the mains look leaner than the last run with 300 mains and I was using 330 mains this time. I was getting good color but not the 2mm height so I now suspect an airleak at the rubber boot from the 2 into 1 filter. because I have some debris in the left carb and it has a little sputter right before it gets on the needles. I check my plugs at idle with a new set and after 10 min were bone white. With the 27.5 pilot will need to fix the leak before I continue. I will try some uni pods because I ride a mix of sugar sand and dirt here in florida.

debris is carb is not a good thing, sort that out first before anything, and letting your bike idle with new plugs isnt gona tell u much, do a proper plug chop , warm it up with old plugs, shut it off, put new plugs in, start it up, go WOT to 6th, shut it down and take them out, put the old ones back in and ride back

Ok did a plug chop today with 340 mains, they are the right color but less than 2 mm width. Tried to get rid of that sputter right before half throttle by putting the clip on the needle all the way rich at the bottom of the needle and no change. Got in a 27.5 pilot screws at 1.5. Don't know whether to go richer or leaner. Also got some uni pods hooked to the carbs if that does anything. In case you forgot I got fmf gold series fatties, +4 timing, And the above mentioned stuff. Thanks.

Lean the needle out...try 2nd groove from the pointy end. Also throw a 350 in there...

Well got a 360 main in there 27.5 pilot 1.5 turns out. It still running strong at WOT no bog with the big jets. The midrange stutter has gotten better with the bigger main needle clip is at 3. The plug chop shows a thin light brown line not the dark 2mm line. I will try bigger mains? Most people with my set up are running 340 mains, Am I missinf something?
