Spzke Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 My front end is in need of some new ball joints. It is an 89 with j arm front setup. They look like they are stamped into the arm and look as though they are permanent. Can anyone clarify this? Surely the newer a arm replacements are not like this. Quote

Spzke Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 My god that is ridiculous. Surely there is an aftermarket manufacturer that makes them where they are replaceable. If not someone ought to. Quote

swrbansheeboy Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 yup, any stock replacement will be a non-servicable ball joint. most aftermarket arms come with replaceable joints now, i will have to take a look at the lonestar d's on our one bike to see if there servicable... Quote
Spzke Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 (edited) By the way, my banshee has been sitting for about 1 1/2 now and i just started messing with it the other day. I had to rebuild to top end back awhile ago and i probably got 7 or 8 months of riding out of it so far. I have to kick my banshee abnormaly hard to get it to start so im thinking i have a compression problem. I havent started to troubleshoot it yet but was wanting to ask this and im sure its been asked before on here but ill ask again. My cousin works on dirtbikes and hes helped me alot with my banshee. He said he always breaks his in by riding it easy for maybe 2 or 3 hours and then run the dog shit out of it and then change the oil. So thats how i broke mine in. So let me ask you this. What in your opinion is the best way to break a new topend in. I know the manufacture suggests riding it easy for so many hours. But in your opinion what is the best way. and also what is average life of the topend? BTW it is stock Edited June 26, 2007 by Spzke Quote
