okbeast Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 I know this sounds like a beginner question or whatever but just bear with me. Going to get a play/drag port done on my stock cylinders soon and I have the opportunity to get a 4mil crank 5mil longrod that's welded already for a pretty good price. I'm just wondering if it's worth the extra 3 hundo to get one on a stock cylinder setup. What difference will I notice, will it really give me alot of extra power? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 as long as the cylinders are ported for the crank, yeah it would be worth it! the stroker crank will yield more torque. Remember, torque is what gets ya movin, hp is what keeps ya there! Quote
RZBansheeMan Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 More Stroke = more leverage = more torque  Long Rod = increased dwell time  = decreased piston side load  The advantage of this is a much broader and smoother powerband  One thing to prioritze if you are going to do the 4 mil stroker is get the cylinders ported for the added displacement of the stroker and the head will also have to be modified. Alot of "extra power" is going to depend on the rest of your combination such as pipes, reeds-intakes, carbs, and jetting. If you are jumping into all this from a stock quad, you will notice a HUGE difference and then if you evetually decide to upgrade cylinders such as RZ, Cheetah, T-Rex, ............ you will already have the stroker crank to compliment those  If you have the funds GO FOR IT !!! Hope this helps Quote
