Flanagans twin Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 hey there, i was looking into a dyna FS programmable igniton for around 300 dollars, i was wondering if anyone on here has this and if so, what it does? is it worth the 300? or should my money go into something different like bigger carbs or something? thank you  Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 (edited) i have one Dajogejr has one and firehead have one and i know of many other on hear that do.... I swear by mine! i will NEVER run anything else. and if you get the money later on you can throw her on the dyno and program some custom curves... you cant beat that... check out ebay... you can gt them for like 250 bucks... Edit: oh also what do you have done to your bike now? the dynas are very nice but if your running a stock bike for the mst part the moneymight be better spent else where first... dynodon Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Personally, I would put the money elsewhere. I run stock ignigtion, and so do alot of guys who are very competitive. Dont get me wrong, a dyna might give you some plus`s, but your also gonna spend some time on the dyno to get the custom curves that would benefit your bike. Quote

dynodon Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 just mount it where the stock one is, NOT hard at all. we had one that we mounted the curve selector up on the front plastics just for ease of changing the curve. Quote
Flanagans twin Posted May 8, 2007 Author Report Posted May 8, 2007 ok so if i replace the stock one with it and plug it in will i notice a difference? i already have advanced timing.... thanks! Quote
dynodon Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 (edited) I wouldnt expect a arm ripping difference by no means, but yes there will be a difference. Play around with the curves, get it on a dyno find what is best for your set up and riding type Edited May 8, 2007 by dynodon Quote
Flanagans twin Posted May 8, 2007 Author Report Posted May 8, 2007 ok......... i will have to look into one then when money is right.. thanks guys! Quote

As I am sure others will atest, I have problems.................I am not sure if any of them qualify as a disease though. I think pretty much everything is a disease these days however, either that or can cause cancer in California. Quote
rhuebner Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Just curious, how much does it cost to throw your shee on a dyno? Do they charge buy the run? Quote
FireHead Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Just curious, how much does it cost to throw your shee on a dyno? Do they charge buy the run? It's a different deal every place you go. Test and tune time is generally sold by the hour and there is usually a lower set price if all you want to do is run your bike a few times and see what kind of power it makes. Quote
