bklf7 Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 (edited) I was hoping someone could tell me how to remove the steering stem bearing? Just beat it out or am I missing a set screw or something? I am assuming it comes out of the bottom also? Let me know. Thanks Edited April 25, 2007 by bklf7 Quote
theshee Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 There is a little brass deal in the bottom that comes out easy. Then you have to remove the seal, then there is a tool you have that turns the bottom part out. I made one, its a bug nut welded on a pipe to get it out. Then you can beat the bearing out. I think thats the order, I just remember taking my bros frame all the way down taking all that apart. It was s bitch to get out and back in though, I do remember that. Quote
gregbowler Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 pull the top seal out then use a 3/4 bolt and two nuts(3/4 bolt head is close enough)and use a wrench to spin the retainer out the top. Then just pull the bearing out the top. Quote
maggot Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Hey guys i've got the same problem with that damn nut. Mine rusted solid I did make the tool to get it out. What would you say is the best way to loosen it. Must I heat it up or what? Quote
