06BaNsHeE Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Go t5s for pipes Kenda Knarly for Tires Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I agree with the T-5's I love my pipes. they have a great sound and lots of power. As for tires I just ordered a set of fast trekkers. A friend loves his on his 250R. So I thought I'd give them a try. Also the only oil I run is Klotz super techniplate at 32:1 it smells awesome with race gas and I have never had a problem with it. Quote

I'm new to the 2stroke thing and learning as I go! The dealer told me this bike was owned by a kid since new(you know dealers never lie!).If it was not broke in properly would that hurt the performance? When I say TURD I mean I was beat out of the hole buy a mini chopper! Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I only run race gas when I go hill racing. I think you have more of a problem than oil. and the break in wouldn't cause it to run worse than a one legged dog. Quote

Thanks for the help guys. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 how are your mechanical skills? Do you think you can rebuild the carbs by yourself? That is where I'd start. make sure all your jets are clean there is a main and a pilot in each carb. A lot of the time the pilot jets get plugged with crap. Clean the well. do not mix the parts up. then follow the carb tuning instructions. Do you still have the T.O.R.S. on the bike? Any mods? how did it run when you got it? the more info you give the better understanding of what's wrong. Quote
jeepnut Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 I can hold my own when it comes to wrenching! And yes bone stock tors still there! The dealer only let me ride it around the lot,And was only able to hit 2nd! I'll pull the plugs and see whats going on with them this weekend! It just does not want to rev and almost sounds like it cutting out on top end! I haven't been on a bike in ten years and thought this thing would scare the shit out of me(just picked it up last sat) I'm going to take it back to the dealer and see what they think! I agree with the carbs it seems it's running lean! Quote

Thanks  cool. now you can look into how you want to mod it. i'd definitely start with pipes and a better air filter. pro design has a much better setup with the adaptor plate and filter. remove the air box lid if you're not concerned with being in deep water at all, but only with a pro design or similar set up. the stock filter is a pos. a good set of pipes and better air flow will give you really noticable gains for the $$. but of course that will require rejetting also.
