jlsparky7 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 They are going to turn black eventually. do the plug chop test. Quote
kb247 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 I run 270 mains with 27.5 pilots and needle on middle clip on my .60 over stock motor with pipes, airbox with no lid but I am at 0 elevation, you should for sure do a plug chop that way you know for sure, but that seems like it would be a bit rich IMO. 400ccStroker_shee Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 (edited) I run 270 mains with 27.5 pilots and needle on middle clip on my .60 over stock motor with pipes, airbox with no lid but I am at 0 elevation, you should for sure do a plug chop that way you know for sure, but that seems like it would be a bit rich IMO. My brother has fmf fatties and power core 2's with the airbox completely cut off and he is running 310 mains and 27.5 pilot and everything else is stock and he's a little rich at glamis, your plugs look a little rich if your looking at the porclein part it looks a little rich. looking at the pics again it looks like 1 plug is ok and the other is rich, that could be because carbs arent in sync Edited April 14, 2007 by 400ccStroker_shee Quote
yamaha04 Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 plugs do go bad after awhile i would get new plugs and try it out i bet it will run like you remeber it. if you have been mixing alittle rick latly it will eventualy foul plugs. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 I think it is running rich.. Stock airfuel screw should be 2 turns out. I'm thinking of the following. 2 1/2 turns out 300 jets What clip should my needle be at? I'm getting in there now. Thanks. Quote
mpbanshee Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Are these plug pics from a WOT run, or did you just ride around, shut it off, and pull the plugs. If that is the case, you plugs are normally gonna look like that. Adjusting the airscrews will dial in the jetting up to 1/8 throttle or so. Anything above that is handled by the needle and main jet. I would start with the needle in the middle groove. Also, have you done a compression check lately? Please post some plug pics after a WOT run, and we can help you better. Quote
