endofitall9 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Alright Guys, I'm conteplating my next motor and I need some info assuming you guys have ever run this setup....... What I plan on doing is building a 4 mil stroker, with a 2 into 1 pipe, 2 into 1 graydon intake and 35mm carb..along with my Gorr port cylinders assuming I can get them adjusted for a 4 mil crank if not Fast Mx Port...I'm just wondering how this mototr will pull...I know it will be waaaaay donw low but what will the topend run like compared to say a 400ex or something... need input from you guys out there........ pokeatyou2 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) IMO i would keep your PT mids , but i just hate seeing a banshee with only one silencer Edited April 3, 2007 by pokeatyou2 Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 your top is going to suck.. that setup is pure bottom end.... your chocking that motor down at two points... intake and exhaut so your not going to have much top coming out of it... Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 If you're that serious about getting bottom end power, go get a four stroke. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Keep yout PT-mids and go to a dual carb setup like maybe 28-33mm carbs for a little more on-top. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Yeah...Josh, I think you're really choking a motor that isn't meant to be choked. By design it likes to breath and rev out. You can sink money and time into it...to give it a "four stroke" feel...but, in the end, prolly easier to just get the four stroke to begin with!! Quote

Oh Alright...geeez guys enough of the fourstroke nonsense! I'm definately not going to forfeit the banshee for a 4 stroke...My bottom is already good with tons of grunt so I may just leave it alone but put the 4 mil with the setup I already have....I know one thing though if I get a 4 stroke it'll only be to double her around on in recreational rides.......haha :shoothead: I think it was Ellison that was running or going to run a 4 mil with his Gorr port cylinders???....maybe he can give me some info on what that runs like just for the motor itself...Also guys I never intended on getting rid of the PT Mids I just wanted to pick up the 2 into 1 pipe.. just to see how it would run but if your guys are saying its going to run pretty much like a 300 fourtrax 4x4 then to hell with that........... thanks guys keep the info coming Quote
