i just watched 'the best in the desert, AVI'. they had a rhino class and those things were beasts!! i've never seen any ute built for racing like that before. is that the new rage out there or what? they only showed 1 shee during the whole show too. that's kind of sad  it seemed their main focus was on the rhino class.

yep some of these guys now are spending $20 to 30 k to build a damn rhino.. for that kind of money you can buy a descent buggy or truck to race.. i just dont get this new golf cart craze, im starting to see more and more glof cart type toys in the desert now days and i just dont get how it can be fun to go 25 mph through the dunes in a damn golf cart. yamaha polaris all these guys jumped on the golf cart band waggon and are making a killing on them now too. next thing you know were gonna see tiger woods driving around pebble beach in a suped up rhino with elka shocks and xm radio blasting... i say keep your golf carts and farm carts on the golf course and on the farm and leave the deserts open to the real men with real toys.. i came inches from being taken out this past sunday by some little kid driving around ocotillo wells in daddy's rhino with his little buddy's.. i cant stand these damn golf carts out there they are slow and dangerous to other riders, just because your golf cart only does 30mph does not mean you dont have to look and watch out for other riders

Come on, don't hold back tell us how you really feel.

Seriously though, I hear these things are supposed to be the new family truckster on the dunes. The problem isn't the Rhino's, its the idiots driving them. I've almost been run over by morons on other bikes as well as sand rails not paying attention.

I think they are here to stay...................

we don't see too many of them around here for sport or pleasure, but of course the farms and golf courses have them for utility purposes. i don't think it should be a 'family toy' or considered to be safer for the kiddies either. that's still a hell of a machine for a little kid to operate. and i'm sure it is like anything else, some people just don't respect others no matter what they are driving.

Milo where'd you see it, tv or online? I wanted to race that one BAD last year and really hope I get there this year (on the Bansh of course heh)...

it was on the outdoor 2 channel on tv. yeah bud, get into it on your shee and maybe they'll showcase you on the show. i was disappointed cuz they only showed 1 shee in the race. maybe you can bring her back to the spotlight.

personaly if i could afford a 30k dollar rhino.....I would drive one. The local motorsports dealership here has a semo one with a supercharger big bore kit/etc. and that thing freaking flies

Anyone who doesnt think a rhino is fun has never ridden in one, I have a blast riding in my buddies, You can do some crazy stuff in one of those things, But I agree that some people are completely retarded when driving one.

i'm sure they are lots of fun. i'd love to throw the wife or kids in beside me and take off for the day. there was a guy driving one on a poker run that i went on yesterday, and it looked like a blast. i think he was the only guy in the whole event not covered in mud too. if i had the $$, i'd have the shee, a grizz and a rhino. but it's tough enough keeping up with the shee, i can imagine having 2 more machines that would HAVE to be modified.

I have seen little kids riding those damn things around. They could hardly reach the damn pedals and they were hauling ass around trailers and shit.
